SOD sounded fairly disgusted at the lack of effort and the poor performance.Very honest (as you'd expect from him). He seemed pretty miffed and said it was probably the worst performance of the season.
I got the impression our game v Swansea at the start of the season was probably our worst performance, then QPR and 'Boro (admitedly with a weakened team). The result was our worst of the season, I'll go with that, but not the performance.
I disagree with those games. At Cardiff I thought we were pretty gash and should have been dead and buried by half-time, though we did have an excellent second half.Against Reading the following week, they were very impressive going forward, but I thought we created a hell of a lot and I really enjoyed the game. Yesterday we had chances and created bits and bobs, but the performance was lethargic and we let a poor team beat us. We could have won if fortune had favoured us, but the performance was terrible - especially defensively.Middlesbrough at home was a massive disappointment for me and I would probably highlight that game as our worst performance even though some off-field issues got in the way of the team selection and affected the game.
I've seen three games this season and this was the middle performance. We were excellent v Cardiff away, very average yesterday and poor v Reading.I got the impression our game v Swansea at the start of the season was probably our worst performance, then QPR and 'Boro (admitedly with a weakened team). The result was our worst of the season, I'll go with that, but not the performance. My major criticism was why did we nearly always slow it down when we entered the final third? JET, Oster, Chambers.....all guilty!
