i think he is out of his depth at this level .His passing and ball control are just poor, and his shorts are just not long enough cutting of vital supply to the his brain i presume

I was impressed with him. Gets in a lot of good positions and looks to drive forward when he can. Doesn't have the 30+ yard passing range that Oster & Stock have but doesn't look out of place when we start pinging it around the small spaces in the midfield. Wouldn't object to him being here next season. Overall it's been a very good season for loan signings.

I think we should be able to send loans signings back after just a couple of games , because they usualy score 1 or 2 by that time , so i think about 23 loan signings each season should get us promoted next year . Its a plan i think .Examples  Guy going to Oldham , Heffernan at Bristol , ....makes you think ..

Bloody hell the font of all knowledge and he doesn't even know our players names.

I took a few of my mates yesterday and a few of them asked me who the number four was. They thought he looked good by getting into good positions and creating a few chances.

A bit more SOD magic on the lad and we have ourselves a good player.

Not been a fan of Mutch and it frustrates me that we play another team's youngster who isn't ready.  I'd like to think there's a chance we'll sign him permanently if not, then what is the point?

On his performance I thought he was good yesterday.  He made mistakes but he made some good little moves.  Looked good going forward that's for sure and made some good little moves past defenders, a few passes went astray but that is something you can improve on.

What is an even bigger frustration for me is that we are prepared to play other teams youngsters but we are not prepared to try our own.

Exactly, that's the main issue for me.  If Fairhurst doesn't start in the remaining games then something is wrong.  Heffs has pretty much sown a move up, so surely it's better to play Waide for 3 games?

How do you work that out? Surely it's a matter of the pounds, shillings and pence and the length of the contract being right for him. Do we know if that has been agreed?
Until he has that piece of paper in his hand detailing everything that is important to him then nothing is sown up.

Arnt they both out on loan to gain 1st team experience  instead of being here and just sitting on the bench at best and think its far to early for them to be playing week in week out in the championship

Can they not be recalled?
Is Jordan Mutch older than them? NO
Is he sitting on the bench each week without getting a game? NO
Nobody is saying that they should play week in week out in the championship but a bit of experience playing in the championship rather than 4 or 5 levels lower will surely benefit them.

The thing is, it dosn't matter what you, I or anyone else on here thinks about Mutch or any other player.

SOD say's they are good enough, thats good enough for me! If SOD say's Rita the tea lady can play up front for us, she can go straight into the team next week for me. ;)

Why do some folks think they know better than him?  :scarf:

Fairhurst certainly deserves a chance in the next few games and I am a massive fan I not been this excited about a player since Green.
I think this lad has it all and will be a big star!

I'll stand by whatever team Sean puts out, be that with Rita the tea lady or Robbie or Charles.

I appreciate I doubt Sean knows the term 'dead rubber' games. Personally, I would have all the fringe players involved around the first team, without compromising performance.

Smith/Woods in for Sulli
Daidy in for Gareth (who deserves a rest)
Fisher/Clarke on the pitch or bench
Waide up front alone
Mutch in midfield.
Mustapha (if fit) at right back

The rest of the squad due to its size, as had lot's of involvement during this campaign, bar the above (though Waide and Jordan have been around the first team). Personally I don't feel a straight swap for the above (and I'm not saying all should start in the 11) would weaken the team and still allow us to perform as a team.

If it was me, and it isn't, I would now get all the above involved, and let's see what they can do in a live situation of this level of football (I'm sure Sean knows what they can do at Cantley). Let's see if they are worthy of playing for DRFC, let's see if it's worth giving them a contract, as we aren't blessed with pennies.

The thing Mutch brings over Clarke or Fisher is a bit of height.

2\" is the difference according to DROS. It isn't much really. Height as never been a factor for Sean in midfield, and in all honesty when as that height been called upon ie how may times as Mutch played or used that height?........other than more than Clarke/Fisher.

IMO I thought Fisher was just a shade short of Mutch and Clarke was more Gillet like in height. That's based on seeing them on the pitch

Ps Is there any chance the mods can change the title to this thread to it's correst one. For any other fans or just DRFC visitors, it makes us look very poor and that we don't even know our own players.

Yes, we can, but I'm not.  It makes Nobby look a pecker, and I like that.  Its all part of his edukashun.

This is the first period in our two seasons at this level that we have not been in a position of  relegation threat or promotion hope . In seasons long past we were a regular mid table Third Division side we  could give youngsters a 10 game run at a time.
It would be interesting to see Fairhust given these last few games ... and Ben Smith. If we don't blood our own in the first team we will never know, because being 'good in training'is obviously not the real litmus test judging from the LG experience .
