Negativity on this forum!
« on April 11, 2010, 11:46:13 am by donnygreenjeans »
Is it me or is does any one else get fed up reading threads on this forum about the negativity and the bad things that happen within and at Doncaster Rovers? whether it's the atmosphere, the stadium, the staff, certain players, SOD, JR, etc, etc. Fair enough everyone is entitled to their opinion and from time to time we all need to let of a little steam but a lot of times the things that i read i am left shaking my head in disbelief, most of the time the good points get over looked by the bad points. I don't want to go down the road with \"look where we were 7-8 years ago\" as that has been covered before but before people begin to start a negative thread just take a step back and think what they are going to say.

No one has commented on the great job we've done by not getting involved in a relegation scrap and for another season we are going to stay in the championship, that alone is a great feat to consider the teams we've played as i thought this season was going to be harder than last seasons especially with the teams that came down and up from their respective leagues and also take into account the squad we've had as i believe it wasn't as strong as last years especially with the amount of injury's that have hit our defensive.
It would be nice change to start to read threads that aren't negative ones even when the Rovers have lost a game, there are always positives to take from a defeat, take yesterdays game for example, there were negative mentions about Hefferman, JET, SOD'S subs, no one mentioned about how oster had another great game or how great it was to see Lockwood back and even Mcdaid on the bench or how well we played against a team that were an ex-premiership club heading back there.

I think a lot of it is people already getting depressed wondering what to do with themselves on a Saturday after Swansea. I know I am. But you're both right, COME ON ROVERS!!!

Simple answer, over the years we have gathered fans who weren't around when we were losing to the likes of Sutton United and can't appreciate how far we have come in so little time. Sad but it happens all over the world. If we carry on at tis rate in 3 years time we will be reading threads about people moaning that we could only muster a 1-1 draw at Barcelona in the 1st leg of the champions league semi final and people whinging about why JR and the keepmoat 2 haven't stumped up to secure Messi in a swap deal with Lewis Guy.
People go on about singing areas at the Km but I would prefer expectation areas where I could sit with like minded people who are just enjoying the ride and don't think we have the divine right to be walloping teams like Plymouth who 7 years ago we could only dream of playing.

I think your message is VERY negitive and would discourage such rantings , but it is a forum and you should be allowed to say what your feel , but negitivity IS allowed so please do not be put off ... please come again soon

He is not saying you cannot be negative,he is not saying you should not make rants etc on here, what his point is that to say how good a team we are and how good a season we have had there is a much bigger percentage of people being negative and very little percentage of people posting positive.Like the match stats say 87% negative 13% positive

Well, for what it's worth - not much - I am downright esctatic every single time I turn up to watch the Rovers, or even listen to the commentary. Why? 'Cos for quite some time I thought I'd never see the Rovers play another game. I wouldn't care, even now, if we were in Unibond div 1. I wouldn't care if we got spanked 6-1 by Gainsborough Trinity. At least I've still got my team to support. I suppose that's why I am pretty rarely negative about DRFC - and when I am it's almost always about inept management by paid employees. Well, one employee actually.

Cheers

Because some people are clever enough to know that not everything is sweetness and light?

Nothing is ever perfect, and like all football clubs there is always something going wrong. Rovers have improved further again this year, in playing and off the field. It has been a fantastic club to be following for the last 8-10 years, and long may it continue! We should be grateful that we can compete with clubs like WBA and Newcastle, just a dream no more than thre years ago. I don't care about the moaners, I am enjoying the ride at the moment!
