With 2 weeks to go to the earlybird deadline i see we've sold 2147, getting mine next week and i think alot will leave it till the last week so hopefully get over the 4000 mark.

I'm hoping to get mine on the very last day (30th) of April as I have to do it through danum credit  which has to be in the week and this is the only day I could get off from work so fingers crossed.

If say we only sell 4000 by the end of April does anyone think the marketing team will try to raise the profile of the tickets being on sale? I hope they do and I hope the vsc could help in someways as well.

On the other hand, if we have sold that many in just 2 months then you could say that it's poss we could sell 10000 in total  in the remaining 5 months before the start of the season. That would give the board some confidence that the town is behined them. If there are a couple of big promotion pushes between the club and the vsc and a couple of \"mouthwatering\" signings then there is nothing to say that it is not achievable. We could in theory look at the home seats being sold out, very optimistic I know but then why not?

Finally now I've got myself an iPhone which is brilliant and this being the future of phone tech with easily downloadable apps. The club could make a userfriendly app for £5 with all sorts of cool games, easy to buy tickets on match days, season tickets etc etc what do you think? Plus it could be easily managed by the it dept

that 2147 has changed for a at least a week so we could be probably around 2,800 maybe more

It's to give the people who currently occupy the cat b seats chance to buy them again for this year, and if they don't renew, they you can have them.

Most people cant get the cash together just like that, early bird period or not. I actually thought sales were going pretty well, to say there's still two games left of this season  :S

i would of liked to see more sold by this point, bus as i know at least 20 rovers season ticket holders that havnt renewed thus far, im really not bothered about figures yet, not until a month before the season, after we have spent millions in signing billy sharp, jordan rhodes, jason shackell, kris commons blah blah blah    ;)  and tbh i know a few others that are jumpin on the band wagon for our promotion push next year  :P

Two more will be bought next week, we've managed to give it enough time to get the money without missing the early bird deadline.

Maybe if they actually had the Season Ticket books to sell then more would have renewed.  The £400 is better in my account for an extra 30-60 days than coming away from the ticket office with a slip of paper!

Sorry I dont get the excuses, the facts are very very clear, the early start to ST was to provide the acid test for supporters to prove to the board that they want a team of high achievers i.e. top two tiers of football.....

Judging by the current activity levels we are going to be a long long way short of it and I do also think the club needs to wake up to this fact.

There is going to be no magic wand that going to make everything alright but much the same as GB/ DC and NC who are fighting for the votes we need to be in the public faces alot more!

Nice poster of JR YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU, plastered everywhere in donny be a start!!!

I say one last try with the early bird discount but this time advertise the fact!!

How many people know that the original offer was extended? Was it a case the renewal invitation was opened and within seconds ended in the bin as you have to remember the packs contained wrong early bird information!!!

If the figure at this stage was 4K I believe we could have maintained the current level circa 7K but at this level of activity I fancy 6k at most and thats being very positive.

Thus you can forget Billy Sharp and Shackwell and more depressingly SOD when he becomes disillusioned when budgets are drastically cut!

The clubs approach to marketing itself has been done to death. What is frustrating is that with a little bit of planning and creativity, we could be reaching the kind of sales figures that could see us adding a few extra thousand on the gate. It could also be done with very little money.

On top of this we can't even do the basics right. Think about the sheer incompetance/laziness/lack of communication that this shows:
Link

The clubs own pdf file (the only piece of official information online about season tickets!) does not show that the deadline has been extended.
It would take me five minutes to alter that date and upload it to the server. Yet it has stubbornly refused to be changed for well over six weeks.
If this failure only put off one person buying a season ticket, it is one to many. We're talking about a simple job that any idiot with a computer could fix in five minutes potentially costing us thousands of pounds.

It's pretty dire stuff really, especially considering that season tickets are the clubs primary revenue stream and it makes the criticism from the board about poor gate figures a little hard to swallow.

The club have missed the boat in regards to promoting ST's for current and potential new ST holders.

Flyers could have been made and posted all over the region regarding ST's and i haven't seen anything in the media (maybe i've missed it?). Also some promotion where existing ST holders get a free 2009/10 home shirt with every ST (as they are giving them away anyway with player as next seasons will be different) and maybe an extended early bird deadline for potential new ST holders.

There's an old say \"speculate to accumalate\" and it makes no difference how much JR bangs on about increasing ST sales, because he's saying it to current supporters and ST holders and NOT to potential new ST holders.

So my message is get speculating with advertising with fliers and the media more and get some incentive going for current and new St holders if you wan't to increase sales.

Some season ticket stuff just popped up DROS. Maybe someone has read this thread?

If so, I have edited and attached a copy of the season ticket pdf with the correct date, and if not, if someone can be bothered to email it to the club feel free because I can't be bothered.

Not very high really.  No doubt it'll be used as a reason for player sales and a lower budget and then the same people who haven't renewed will spout a lack of ambition etc.  It's a chicken and egg situation, without ambition people don't renew, without renewals you don't get ambitious signings.

Can't help think the same.

When redundancies are still happening, Jarvis being one of the most recent in this area, how can it be a suprise that ST numbers are on the decline.

There was only going to be one way that the club could increase revenue and that was to make it as cheap as chips to get a ST.

I'm sorry but JR and the board are so out of touch with reality it's untrue.

I asked a question when ST prices first came out and to date we have had no response. What is JRs ST target for next season ?

The price rise for many is the straw that's broken the camel's back. We lost a thousand ST holders last season. What's been done to claw them back ?

I begrudge paying £440 for my ST because I think it's too much to watch a game of football, period. It's only because I'm a die hard that I will find a way to manage the debt.

People talk about crossroads. Well, we've just taken the wrong turning. Who know's where we'll end up ?

It's about time the board started to use sat nav instead of using the stars !!

Previous ST sales of 8,000 is hardly the town showing that we're not interested! What is desperately needed is a sign that we intend staying where we are again next season and, hopefully bettering our position. We can't be sat our hands waiting to see how many people renew in the early bird offer period, as it'll be too late.

ST sales will be fine when we hear (or, preferably, see) what kind of signings are coming in. Of the 8,000 ST holders we have, currently, I'd guess that only half of them would renew, despite what the Board do before next season. The remainder will wait and see what happens next - or, at the very least, what the Board's intentions are for next season. We've heard absolutely nothing, to date, to warrant any ditherers to undither (if you get my meaning)!

I think most people, bar the odd Chelsea or Spurs fan, would begrudge paying £440 to watch a game of football. You on the other hand are paying £440 to watch 23 games of football, at a cost of just over £19 a game. Not a bad price at all.

At the end of day I respect your opinion and of course given the size of the borough should be plenty of ST to take your place ....

Lets just wait and and see, if the donny people dont put their money where their mouth it, disaster beckons !

Maybe we have to realise we are just a pub team having a laugh end of !

Still too much. Some clubs have woken up and don't treat their ST holders as cash cows and try to squeeze more out of the same people.

I know of a few people who have already decided not to bother this year and 'pick and choose' and, I bet they choose less than 10 games. Once out of the habbit of going then it's more difficult to motivate them to go.

The club has done naff all off the field to appeal to the waverer's and to get an understanding of the economic climate.
