I know who I'd rather see........

.....stay up this season, Wendies and SKitsons. Better Stadium fillers than either Palace or Watford, and keeps local rivalry alive. We need these games next season, two good days out for me especially as Scunny is usually an early kick off, meaning I can get to work within plenty of time after the game.

Plus, I'd love us to have another crack at beating the Wendies at Swillsbrough, just to show them that this seasons result was no fluke (if any was needed after the way we played there).

We should all be rooting for Scunny and the Owls no matter what we think of them as rivals, just think of two full houses at the Keepmoat, instead of 9,000 of us plus whatever Palace and Watford can muster, it's a no brainer. ;)

f**k Wednesday, my wendy supporting cousins and uncle took great joy in constantly pissing me off about our demise when we went out of the league.
I hope they go down this season and next season too the arrogant bunch of cock munchers even though they feel they don't deserve too because they're ...... MASSIVE!!!!!

Despite two seasons of mid-table finishes I've still got a survival mentality so I wouldn't object to the Wendies going down based on an assumption that Watford and Palace would both continue to struggle next season. If Wendies stay up I could see Irvine making them a more solid team next year.

I agree with everything said in this thread.  Yes, wednesday should stay up for the local derby value.  And yes, they should go down for the arrogance.

Its a win-win!

.... even those with £1000 on Scunny to go down ?

I cant remember last time I bet on a horse and then cheered against it ... well yes I can. I once had a bet on a 9/1 shot and a 50/1 shot Strip Cartoon trained by S Bowring and running at Southwell in the same race

The 50/1 shot led all the way and the 9/1 shot was catching it in the final furlong with me hoping it would not get there

At least with Scunny the Bookies have got some of their money back though its taken them a good few years

I'm a bit torn on the Wednesday issue as well.

I'd like to see them go down in many ways just so they suffer and their arrogance levels are brought down by a peg or two. Could you imagine them not being in this league when so many Yorkshire clubs are, and having to endure trips to Rochdale, Plymouth, Hartlepool, etc, next season? Wendy fans would absolutely hate it!!!

That said, on the other side of the coin I'd like to see them survive for the local derby value, etc. It's always an enjoyable day out at Hillsborough and we'd get a big crowd at the Keepmoat too. I'm also a big fan of Alan Irvine and would be happy for him if they avoid the drop.

If we lose Palace we'd lose a quality away day, albeit a relatively expensive one as well.

It really is a win-win situation on the whole, and apart from exiles in the South West, I don't think anyone will be sad to see the back of Plymouth either!!!

I think that you would gladly look at Alan Irvine tail for a good couple of hours. You appear to have a weird homosexual obsessive bunny boiler thing going on with AL.

I can only speak for the Wednesday fans I know at work, one of whom is actually looking forward to piss up around Rochdale ( sad I know ). Like any fans, you get those who are deluded, big headed, disappear when the goings tough, appear when a sides doing well (does that last bit remind you of us at all????). Let em stay up I say, and Leeds, come and join us, we want to beat you all!

If Wednesday go down and we get Leeds back up, that'll just about even it out surely

Like others have said, if they stay up it's good as we keep the derbies, if they go down it's good so we can laugh at them again. I think they will go down, can't see them hauling themselves out in the last two games. But Watford or Palace going doesn't bother me, an expensive, long away day that don't bring big numbers to the Keepmoat. Went to both grounds this season so don't need to tick 'em off either.
