I will start it off by saying Bradford Park Avenue (it was the shirt that gave it away)

I was there that day and I believe extended highlights were on YTV

1965/6 ?

Sorry about the blank - don't know why, but I was going to say 1967/68 season.

Fantastic Picture Bentley!

Name the ground: Park Avenue
Name the Rover's striker: John \"Pancho\" Regan
name the former Rovers player: Phil Robinson
Name the year: December 21, 1968.

We lost 2-1 in front of the YTV camera. Webber scored our goal in front of 3,911 fans!

We did not taste defeat again until April 14, 1969. We lost 1-0 at Brentford that night, ending the 20 game unbeaten run that gave us the D4 Championship!

Happy, carefree days!

Great memory about Gilfillan at Lincoln, Donnywolf. I was there too!

More pics like this please!

Well done Alonzo! You know more than me!! I've got quite a few photo's given to me around that era by my uncle who worked at the Doncaster Evening Post. One photo I was given was used for a 'spot the ball' competition, but my dad refused to enter that week  because he said it would be cheating, and my Uncle might get the sack.....Straight as a die he was, like most people in those days!

I'll dig some more out and post them.

I remember it well, somebody ran into the back of our car just outside Wakefield (no m62 then) so we got a lift off some other rovers fans.
I was also at Griffin Park to see that 1-0 defeat.
Good old British Rail in those days.

I've just found this. It's Alick just before he broke his leg in 1956. Can anyone identify the ground?

...AND yes it was on TV as I say and if I remember correctly they tried Danny Blanchflower (ex Spurs player for those under 50) as commentator and he littered his commentary in that game and most others with CHANCE theres a CHANCE its a CHANCE

I would like to see and listen to Bradford highlights to see how many times he actually said it

...and again for the nippers I believe it probably say Yorkshire or Bradford CC on the stand it being a home venue of the MIGHTY Yorkshire CCC as was Bramall Lane

Ey, Danny Blanchflower was pretty poor at commentating wasn't he!

As for the Alick Photo, Alonso, I'm stuck as to what ground it was taken on....Give us a clue!!!

Here's some more pics from the same game at BPA meanwhile.
