Prize money. again
« on May 02, 2010, 11:37:25 pm by BobG »
Chaps

I saw another reference somewhere today that suggested there is prize money for each position in the Championship. I've looked on the FL website, but I can't find any info at all on there. Is this just a silly rumour? Or is it true? And if it is true, how much 1s 12th worth?

Cheers

Isn't it fairly certain as a fact that each position yields a different amount of prize money!?    It's always been like that across all the divisions hasn't it?

That said I can't help in saying how much we earn, but I'm sure it's more than 13th and less than 11th.

Winners get 50k and runners up 25k apparently, so basically chuff all for twelfth place.

I think there's something similar in the Chaapionship. It might be that bloody money that the Premiership hand out is doled out in that fashion. I tried the PL site too. Couldn't find it there either. But I'm almost sure there is something.

I dont think there is, Bob.  I thought it was only the winner and runner up who get the payout (if you can call it that, as it pales into insignificance given the riches they will receive for one year in the Prem)

Only prize money is given out based on League position to Premiership teams (this is how they split the \"pool\" money). In the Football League the money is distributed evenly.

On the same theme, I heard someone talking on Deedah this morning about the TV 'monies' that Wednesdeh will miss out on, by dropping out of the CCC - some £2.5 million. Apparently, its only a few hundred thousand for the Div 1 Clubs.

That's a sizeable chunk towards our 'budget' for next season.

There was a little debate going on further down Alan re this 2.3m. Some might say it's dirty money. Some might say it's self preservation.
