Oldest memorabilia

Hi folks saw a thread a few weeks back about oldest memorabilia and thought this may interest some of you



new to the forum and adding pics but will add more and the inner pics if you're interested
The card is a members card from the time and probably the equivalent of todays season ticket

I would love to see photos of the inner pages and if you can I would like to be able to see the names as well as I am a bit of a Genealogist and might be able to do some work on them.

I never knew we had ever been in the same division as Manchester United and Liverpool. Anyone know what the scores were?

Answering my own post here but according to wikipedia

1 April 1905   Manchester United 6-0 Doncaster Rovers   Duckworth (3), Beddow, Peddie, Wombwell   Attendance: 6000

So we got spanked but had an attendance nearly twice the size of Manchester Uniteds.

I wonder if they were chanting 'What's it like to see a crowd?'

The Intake Ground could not hold 10,000. The Doncaster Gazette of the time gave the attendance at the ManU game as 4,000. The record gate at the Intake was 6,000, when Middlesbrough visited on March 28, 1902. Several special trains brought an estimated 3,000 fans to Doncaster from Northeast that day.

I've got a photocopy of that membership card at home. The 1904-05 season was something of a disaster for Rovers, as we finished with only eight points. Needless to say, we were not re-elected and did not return to the Football League until 1923, by which time Divisions Three North and South had been formed.
