Yes please, but again surely out of our league with regards to wages.

My thoughts too. Didn't we enquire after him when Keane transfer listed him last August and JR say he was on 12kp/w?

Would suit our style well and we need someone with a bit of height but has the much cliched \"good touch for a big man\". Happy with him or Chris Brown. Maybe there's enough stretch if they would knock 20% off their current wages (which you would imagine some players will have to do anyway).

I have absolutley no corroborating evidence for this, so believe/disbelieve at will:

Whilst Stead was warming up in front of the West stand this season, some wag shouts \"Should have signed for us son!\" at him. (this was post the various rumours about a possible deal earlier in the season)

Stead turns round, looks up and mouths back \"Yes, I know\"

Ever since the fateful match with Huddersfield at The galpharm I have wanted him to play for Rovers. When he came on against us last year in the home game against Ipswich he was very dangerous. He would thrive under SOD's tutilage.

If he is going to move this summer he will probably wait and see if Hudders make it up first.

I'd love to have Stead here. I agree with Barmby Rover ever since his Hudders days I've always wanted to see him wearing the red and white of rovers! He'd be great under SOD.

I heard we was offered him on loan in our first season in championship(possibly the jan window) and we said forget it as soon as they mentioned his wage demands even on loan! But if he is in need of resurrecting his career somewhat you never know if he will choose an option where he might make a name forhimself again like Billy has rather than a dodgey higher wage deal with a poorly run club.SOD must be getting a bit of a reputation for getting the best/resurging players careers round the championship community by now.
