Rovers keeping Sharp eye on Billy's future

DONCASTER Rovers retain an interest in Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp and are keeping a close eye on developments at Bramall Lane as to his future.
Sharp played on a season-long loan for Rovers last season, scoring 15 goals.
He is is out of contract next summer and the Blades have either to offer him a new deal or risk him walking away on a free in 12 months' time.
Rovers, whose fans set up a fund to help meet the cost of any transfer, have made no secret of the fact that they would be interested in signing Sharp were they to be able to do so within their budget.
\"Billy is a Sheffield United player so it would be churlish for me to comment on what might happen,\" said Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll, who has been given the biggest budget in the club's history.
\"The people we have spoken to about Billy have said that they are having meetings to try and find a way forward. Whatever happens will happen.\"
\"We've got a lot of players in the last year of their contract and if we want to keep them we'll have to do something.\"
As was the case last season, the Rovers players will report back for several days' training during one of three designated weeks in the close season.
\"It will be down to the players which week they chose to come in depending on their holiday arrangements,\" said O'Driscoll.
In addition to reporting back during their two month break, the players have all been given personal training schedules to follow by sports scientist Ross Burbeary.
The players report back for pre-season training the first week in July.
After a week's training at Cantley Park, the squad are scheduled to spend a week at Warwick University.

They'll have to start calling us 'The Dons'.
