I'm sure Cardiff and Hull City fans would, who've spent way above their relative means would disagree.

It just shows what can be achieved if you have the courage of your convictions. There is a widespread of teams in this league with little to choose between them, and one or two players can make all the difference. Blackpool were brave and paid £500k for the in-demand Charlie Adam to make his loan deal permanent, not an amount that put the club at risk, but a fee that made a statement that they were willing to make the difference. They have been rewarded with the ultimate prize. A great example to us.

NOT IMO

...true we could have beaten either of them in a one off Final but there are 46 games to play to get in the Play offs and of course 3 more to come for the successful club

I dont see us as having the ammo to get anywhere nearer than we did this Season and I would be CHUFFED if we nmanage to be \"safe\" at the same stage as we did it this Season

...again just my opinion

Well pleased for Blackpool.  The club that is most like us in many respects.  Well done to Lofty.  Great for the town. Maybe they can finish that f**king stand now.

we scored and hit the woodwork against the run of play, blackpool had about 74% possesion prior to us scoring, Too many players didn't turn up, biggest match of the season and the bottle it (as they did against sheff weds last season on final day) Kelvin Etuhu came on for Bothroyd.....he was useless, may as well put a fan on instead, they would have shown more heart....burke, kennedy, hudson list goes on,defending like scholl kids.

not taking anything away from Blackpool, they deserve to be where they are, and at least MOTD will be more interesting from now on with Holloway there.

So, can we emulate this?
Spend a couple of million on players to go for the greater prize or not?
It might not work, thats the risk, but should we take the gamble?

That's fine with me fella - just read alot of your posts and didn't know.

Only asking out of interest, actually wanted the bluebirds to win today - as they'll be a bigger threat than Blackpool would have been next season.

Credit to both teams today on a good game of football, I personally thought it could have gone either way but Blackpool took more of their chances of course and they have every right to celebrate their success. From division 3 to Premiership in a relative short space of time really is testament to how the club has been run and something that Rovers can emulate with how the board are going about things. I am not saying that Rovers can go up next season, but we are making steady progress and the rewards can be there. I think the board are learning from other clubs mistakes.

Congrats to Blackpool...fantastic achievement.

But make no bones about it...they will come straight back down next season.

Not necessarily, mate! Give them a bleeding chance. Mind you, they are always favorites to go down just like they were this season  B)

But the real point is that Blackpool DIDN'T spend a couple of million on players!!!

But then again I'm sure the fans of Wigan, Bolton and Blackburn would agree with me!

But then they had people with money backing them eh?
