Has been made available for transfer from Huddersfield.

Decent centre half, am I right in thinking SOD has shown an interest previously?

Not sure on Sean, but he was touted a great deal on here (being a Balby lad and all that).

I remember him coming on for the last bit v Scunny, when Keogh and Beckford played up front. The main memory/highlight of that game was the performance of Keogh who had a cracking game.

Butler looked big and powerful, I think he was thrown up front to chase a winner in this game

Can't help but think: has he been put up for transfer by request of the player or because Huddersfield don't think he's good enough. If it's the latter, I'm not sure that's what we need when trying to push for the play offs

It's a strange one as he was sent out on loan last season and ended up at Blackpool, don't know how they got on though  ;)

Maybe he just wasn't happy at Huddersfield, which would explain why he's up for transfer. Don't know much about him, but maby worth ago for a cheap fee as well as getting that loan centre-half that SOD hinted at.

He looks pretty keen on going to Scunthorpe.

A neighbour of mine is his best mate, I'll have a word and see if there's anything doing.

A bloke I know has a son who has just been released by Scunny, and when the rumours were doing the rounds last season about Butler, he said he would be a cracking signing. Big, strong and good in the air is what we lack and so all things considered I'd go for him. Surely playing for your home town club has to be more appealing than the relegation scrap Scunny will find themselves in! In my opinion he has to be better than Lockwood and Hird, who I think have found the step up beyond them, so its a no brainer for me if the price is right.
