...England win their group, they'll never have a better chance of making a World Cup Final.

England's half of the draw looks by far the easier.
If they win their group, they'll play the second place side from group D (could be Germany, but more likley Ghana or Serbia).

Then in the QF, they'll play whoever wins the match between the top of group A (Mexico/Uruguay) and second place in group B (Nigeria/Greece/South Korea).

Only then would England come up against Argentina in the semi - and that's assuming Argentina don't slip up.

It's not beyond credibility that England could make the final having played Ghana in R2, Greece in the QF and Uruguay in the semi.

By contrast, the other half of the draw looks like a killing field. Shaping up to be Holland vs Italy and Brazil vs Spain in R2.

Not a bad time to have a cheeky bet then?

Given the England odds are probably at the widest they will be, assuming they will qualify.

If....I were a carpenter
and you were a lady,
would you marry me anyway,
would you have my baby?

which is about as likely as England winning the World Cup!!!

Heard on TalkShite tonight that England's odds had drifted right out after JT's interview...... to 10/1!

Tight arse bookies are sticking their necks out a bit there!  lol

If...... I had a hammer
I'd hammer in the morning
I'd hammer in the evening
All over this land
I'd hammer out danger
I'd hammer out a warning
I'd hammer out love between my brothers and my sisters
All over this land

whoooo, whoo, whoooo, whoo

I would suggest we avoid a sledgehammer and lump hammer for this purpose. A little claw hammer or at best a toffee hammer. The above is most feasable, even though you would probably be tired after all that hammering, so in my book England will qualify and they will still be in the world cup in July.
