The embarassment is just too excrutieating.....

or

I'm exhaused from trying to pretend we have a national TEAM..

Or, the sight of Capello gesticulating in slow motion was giving me nightmares....

Or

at least Wayne can get home and watch the last episode of Glee as Colleen has reportedly taped it for him, obviously all that worrying over weather the kids would win the sing off affected his performance mightily...

Because I've always (well, since 1997) struggled with supporting the National Team and hating the FA.

Spineless, egotistical, self-centred bas**rds.  Actually, that doesnt narrow down which of the two I mean, does it.

Unfortunately not so blessed. If I were, I'd have stuck pins into the entire FA all of 11 years ago now. The writing has been on the wall ever since: that risible 'fit and proper persons' test for example. That showed, loud and proud, exactly what the FA are about. If it were possible, the not very long subsquent resignation of their enforcement officer, ex cop Mr Bean because he did not get any support from the FA in doing his duty (m'lud) illustrated once again that the FA viewed that particular exercise purely as a piece of toothless propaganda to fight off the Labour Government.

The later debacles of Wembley - or should I call it The Biggest Penis in the World? - and the Burton National football Centre showed, once again, that ego, above all other things, dominates the FA. Now, of course, they've lost most of their power to the moguls in Sky and ther Premier League. So it is currently impossible to see any way in which any improvement can ever be made. They had their chance. They blew it. Now they're simply bloated, toothless, plutocrats along for the glamour, the events and the fabulous food. Does anyone on here seriously think England are going to host the World Cup any time in the next 20 years? Get real. It's another pipe dream of an ego trip. They've screwed up every other ego trip this last 20 years. What would make that any different?

And none of that even mentions their despicable dereliction of duty in the affaires of DRFC, Brighton, Chesterfield, Carlisle, Liverpool, Manchester Utd and upweards of 20 other clubs since Charlton Athletic.

It's all of that, and more, that has made me refuse to support England any more. Indeed, I feel so strongly about this that I support any team against whom England happen to be playing. Them, and Holland and Argentina since they both know how to play and how to develop good players.

PS If you want any more examples of their crass incompetance take a trip down Memory Lane to review the never ending series of inept appointments as Chief Execs. From Palios who couldn't keep his dick in his trousers to whats his name recently who couldn't keep his tongue in his gob. Or shed a passing tear for Wilkinson's revolutionary (well, for England) development plan that was met with hyperbole by the FA in 1997 and brushed under the carpet by 1999. Watch out now: you'll see exactly the same thing in a few weeks time. I bet you a thousand dinners that the FA will come out saying we're going to 'learn the lessons', 'appoint world class coaches', 'search the world for the talent' 'regardless of expense'. And then take another look in 2 years time. The public furore will have died down by then. No need to go to all that trouble and expense old boy. Let's just pop along to Oceania for a quick review of how they do things in the Seychelles instead.

Absolutely facsinated by the utter apathy with which my post above, and the one in the season ticket prices thread, have been received.

Tells me a very great deal about the depth of thought of many on here. Tells me even more about the motivations of most on here. and tells me most of all that the FA, Sky tv and the bloated plutocrats will continue on their merry way for years and years and years - 'cos no bugger can be arsed to even think about the issues never mind put a finger to a keyboard.

Cheers

Bob what would you have me say, I have read your post with great interest and agree with almost all of your points.
I'm sure there are many on here that are still 'chewing' over the points you have raised and that a suitable debate will soon begin.
However there will be a few that have never given the imminent destruction of our game no more than a second's thought ; they are more interested in the 'Billy saga'.  ;)
