Another angle on the transfer activity
« on July 05, 2010, 09:51:54 pm by scuzzer »
Other than the obvious benefit of making a signing like Billy meaning that his talents are permanently at our disposal, one thing that does seem to stand out with this is the fact that we look to be getting our squad together for the start of pre-season and not doing our business at the end of the window.

We've been slow starters on a fairly regular basis over the last few years and this late activity getting the squad togther has surely had a major part to play in that, hopefully this apparent shift in transfer strategy will bear fruit and we can hit the ground running this season.

I hope the word is right and Billy is a Rover now, on the loan front i'd love to see JET and Mutch join up shortly with a centre half. The Keough thing as good as it would be to attract him to link up with his old pal just seems too good to be true, i really think that would be a wish too far to come true.

Either way we can be a force in this division this year now and JR and the KM2 deserve every bit of credit coming if they can pull this off.

That's a bit unfair. Mills and Wellens were still Rovers players last pre-season (didn't they both play in pre-season friendlies?) and Brooker was 'expected' to feature. So for Sean to start planning in July with these three players in mind and then to start the season without them, its not really a change in strategy - just in circumstances.
