Richard Wright...
« on July 06, 2010, 09:44:22 am by Premier_Rover »
What does everyone think to Richard Wright? On a free transfer, let's face it, as much as we love him, Sully is 40 and possibly gonna struggle to keep up with the games, whilst Gary Woods is still maybe a tad inexperienced. Richard Wright available on a free transfer, just been on Sky Sports saying he wants to join a club where he is gonna play...

Well he would be a great signing, however he'll be on pretty decent wages and that might be a problem. Also i dont think SoD is looking for a keeper, but i would have Wright very good keeper.

Similar to the Burch scenario - I think its come about one year too early. Fantastic signing he would be but I don't think it would make financial sense to have 2 goalkeepers most likely in the top 5-7 earners at the club given how well Sulli has been performing and the number of games he has coped with over the last 3 seasons.

If he gets injured for 2 games then Woods may get his chance. If he gets something longer term then I guess we'll dip into the loan market - most premiership teams have a decent number of keepers on their books.

he's 32, wanting to play regularly, we cud get 5 years out of him, he's an ex international, still a bit of class, sully cud take to a coach/player role, but as has been sed SOD doesn't seem bothered about the goalkeeper situation

I have chatted several times to him over my mate's garden fence type of chat , in ipswich . He is certainly still very motivated to progress his career and though he has never fulfilled the exaggerated expectation on him when he was at Ipswich in his first spell .. he was not on the fringes of the England squad for nowt. Just seems unlikely for DRFC at this stage.; Sully just having signed for another season.

He's dodgy at long balls played into his area - just ask Robbo and Fortune  :P
