Best film of the last 10 years
« on July 22, 2010, 10:27:38 pm by MrFrost »
Read in some magazine whilst browsing today that Avatar is the best film of the last 10 years.
Based on what? Visually it was great, I thought the story was shit.

There must be better choices than that?

Here's a few that didn't even make the top 50 which IMO could have easily been number 1.
The Dark Knight
Sunshine
The Prestige

NApolean Dynamite.

In the first month of watching it I must have watched it 10 times, picking up something new each time.  I was constantly buying my mates the dvd of it as birthday presents.

If I was at school I would have been quoting it so much I would have got on my teachers tits!!

Infact one teacher wrote in my report that I included Donny Rovers to much in my English homework:)  (hard to believe Romeo dumped Juliet to go watch John Buckley tearing down the wing!!!) :)

The remake of \"The Departed\" was awesome. Jack Nicholson at his brilliant best.

Hard Candy
Kick Ass (not a \"classic\" film as in epic, cost a fortune, etc, but 2 hours of complete joy)
Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith - I nearly cried at that ;-)
Shutter Island (felt very much like a Brian De Palma movie. Liked it a lot)
Paul Blart - Mall Cop.

Avatar? FFS, Apocalypse now gunships blow away elongated smurfs. I didn't even think it was that visually stunning, it looks like glorified Playstation game.

I can't think of too many really great films over the last ten years. I really enjoyed There Will Be Blood, \"I drink your milkshake!\" so maybe I'd nominate that. Was Sexy Beast released in the last ten years? That was excellent too...

I have high hopes for Inception which I'm off to see tonight.

Inception is brilliant, hard to grasp at first but when you work it out tis fantastic. Don't take a woman to see it either, constant complaining.

Law Abiding Citizen must be up there.

Irony not lost on me BST - but what great choices - two of the very very best indeed

Just add Rear Window and I'm ready for that desert island (as long as Lord of the Rings is there as well)

Ahh Uncle Rico.....genius

Seriously though, I thought 'The Wrestler' was absolutely outstanding. Mickey Rourke should have won an Oscar for his performance

Went to see Inception last night. Christopher Nolan does it again. Absolutely blew me away.
There can't be many directors in his class.

I thoroughly enjoyed Inception. Definitely one of the best films of the last decade I'd say.

I've never been in a film before when at least half the audience groan in frustration at the end.

Fasttrack?

One of funniest films I've seen! I believe its still showing at cineworld cinemas and if you haven't already then go to see it, will not regret it.
