Doubt Scunthorpe's ground could cope with any weather except sun

I suppose as I'm not planning to go to Scunny it makes it easier for me to play Devil's Advocate, but would it be so awful if it was called off? We're missing Furman, Howieson and probably Lundstram. We don't have a huge backlog as there are two spare midweek dates that can be used before the end of the season.

The only disadvantage would be that it would allow others to catch up with or overtake us, but the likelihood is that we'd play the match with a stronger side- or a stronger midfield, anyway.

Anyway, looking at the forecast there doesn't seem to be snow or frost in the offing for Friday/ Saturday. I think the only threat to the game could be waterlogging if Friday's rain is very heavy.

I can't make it either RB so a Tuesday/Wednesday postbonement wouldn't kill me either, however we don't want to 'bank' too many games or the problem we have now could be even worse with a fixture backlog.
We need to be firing on all cylinders especially for the final 4 games.

Because they like postbonements there Norfolk perhaps or possibly they have a history worse than ours for postboning games.

Snow forecast tonight and Thursday night into Friday. Sunthorpe's ground is a shit tip (even worse than ours!) and I doubt it will stand too much precipitation of any kind, snow or rain

Bearing in mind the season ends in 5/6 weeks and we already have a game in hand to play I'd rather we didn't add another one into that crucial final few weeks.

We've had 3 or 4 postponements this season, more than I can ever remember in 1 season.

It's kind of annoying when you've geared yourself up for a game!

Postponing or boning or whatever?

Come on lads, it's Scunny away, take 'em on, rack the points up on the board and let those behind worry about must win fixtures that they have in hand over us etc.

Now is not the time to run scared  :scarf:

Hope its on and I'm not even going.  Could do without a backlog at this stage with the Carlisle game already re-arranged.

Plus I really fancy us to win this one  :scarf:

With Furman away on international duty, Lunstram injured/away on international duty, Hume not fully fit, Syers not fit, it may not be toooooo desperate if it's postponed.
I can see Harper and Wilson playing as defensive midfielders. Do we really want that????

With all these postponements, I think it could open up the old winter break debate...

The problem is Dave - when would this winter break be? We have had games called off in January and are now talking about one being called off at the end of March. Are you really suggesting a 4 month break?

The problem is not the weather but adapting to it, either with undersoil heating or artifical pitches.

I suppose our winters are all over the place.

Surely the FA could help out with pitch covers etc.

Or we just accept that despite all efforts we'll most likely postpone a few games each season to the weather?  There are midweek dates available should saturday's game be postponed.

We can't have the winter break run from December until April so I doubt it will spark that debate tbh :P
