Story coming out now is that last week, Sunak told the French Govt he wasn't going at all because he was too busy campaigning.

Beyond words.
Every time you deflect from the inadequacies of your own beloved Labour Party by spending all your time condemning rival parties instead support my claim that this Labour Party is a party of protest and not a party of government. The Labour Party AND ITS SUPPORTERS can only lift itself up by bringing opponent parties down.

There will be nothing to hide behind when this Labour Party is in power.

Would that be after the Tory machine tweeted that it was a mistake he should have stayed longer in France and he's now sorry?
Nice snub to the other nations who took part in D Day, ammo for Farage and photo opp for Starmer.
Did we see the next leader of the Tory party posing with the other world leaders?

What an extraordinary generation of ordinary people our immediate ancestors were/are.

Where would we/Europe/the world be now if they hadn't firstly stood up to an immense and powerful evil and finally, with the help of friends and allies, defeated it?

It doesn't bear thinking about.
Well said, we owe them so much, it's a shame Sunak doesn't share the same veiw.

Has anyone else done the quiz thing? I'd be really interested to know if it makes anyone reconsider their voting preference.

If you were planning to vote for a party but you only had 50% preference in common with their manifesto would that sway you?

For the record, although they're not my most ideologically aligned I'm sticking with the Lib Dems as I'm in a position in my local party in which I would hope to influence policy from within rather than jump ship to someone else whenever there's a small variance. Had the party ranked much further down the list I would be seriously considering looking into the alternatives in more detail.

I have and I worry it's authentic because I've no intention of voting for the one it reckons I align with (and it surprises me).

82% Conservative#
68% Reclaim
54% Lib Dem
54% UKIP
51% Labour
50% Rejoin EU (surprised that was higher than 0%)
Loads of others in the high 40s.

Really surprised me, but I suspect it's the taxes, economic elements that sway it.  It's very hard given the categories though because most of my answers would be yes/no but only if etc.....  Politics isn't simple!

Surely France are clear favourites?

I think Southgate's nearly called it all right, he's gone with form and fitness.  How often have we criticised England managers for picking the names?  I'm a fan of Grealish, his work rate and impact as sub are brilliant.  But there's others in better form.

Centre half is clearly the biggest weakness at the moment.  I'd definitely have taken the lad from Everton, he's impressive, even if just for experience in the squad, he'll likely end up getting a lot of caps.  I don't find Dunk imposing enough and Brighton's form hasn't been brilliant either.

As ever though, Kane, Bellingham, Rice, Saka and Stones are the key players, not many teams have a spine with that strength.

Germany should be favourites.

Your thoughts or comments on Sunak leaving the D-Day event early?
He should admit it was a mistake and apologise for not staying in France longer.

Nice deflection, I’m asking your opinion, was he right or was he wrong.

And by the way it wasn’t a mistake, the TV interview time was offered to ITV before the event, in my opinion it was downright arrogance
I said he should admit it was a mistake and apologise for not staying in France longer. That means I think it was a mistake he didn't stay in France longer, and should apologise.

I’m not saying Saka isn’t good, but Foden is obviously ahead of him. Saka v Palmer is close but Palmer edges it for me.

They play different positions.

Where would you play them?

Would have picked Rashford in front of Bowen.

Not fussed about Grealish. I’d look good playing for City.

We visited the memorial last year, it is so moving walking amongst the columns with thousands of names and ages of the dead
