Ipswich Town vs Doncaster Rovers

Although obviously not as good as any VivaRovers writes, found a good preview for saturdays game:

http://www.twtd.co.uk/news.php?storyid=17747

Suprisingly, DROS also has a preview up! Wahoo!

Fans buying a copy of the programme at Saturday’s game will receive a complimentary packet of sweet pea seeds, a variety appropriately named Singing the Blues, courtesy of Suffolk seedsmen Johnsons.

For all those travelling, don`t forget your free packet of seeds!

Looks good to me. Can't say I've seen Mason play though, but a fresh face can't do any harm.

Three points and a clean sheet please. We need it.

A guy on the Thorne bus coming from Wolves said if we lost tomorrow it'll ruin us. Can't say I disagree. DBR - agree with that line up.

I came up with much the same, except Wilson in midfield rather than Mason, who would be on the bench.

I know our veteran 'keeper's been through a rough patch lately, but I think it's a bit harsh to call him \"Silli.\"
 ;)

No idea on the score really, so I'll plump for a score-draw.

keeping faith with the players that have been thrashed in last two games......

Needed fresh faces today - reverting back to trusted ones for dingle games - Hope i am wrong but dont like this team one bit!

Looks like a flat back four though.

Still looking a bit lightweight in midfield. Wilson needs a stormer with Keegan salivating in the wings !!

Might be an idea to sub Oster with Mason if nothing is happening for us after 60 mins. I would still put Wilson or Sam as a defending midfielder but I suspect that Keegan will get the place. Can Chambers last a full 90? Not yet I fear, maybe we have Sam to step into the fray to cover him or Friend. Up front Hayter and Sharp have to be the automatic choice. Let's hope they have sat down, sorted the problems and have returned to playing football. We need a passing game to make it work for us.

Expect the midfield to get overrun again today then!

Wilson, Shiels, Oster and Coppinger vs a packed midfield of Leadbitter, Norris, Martin, Healy and Edwards. Doesn't fill me with confidence whatsoever.

We don't have strict midfielders. We play 4-6, Hayter and Copps will always drop back into midfield when needed, and Billy would put his two pennorth in too. Don't worry too much, there will not be a more prepared team playing today.

More worried about the personnel than the shape to be honest. Copps, Oster and Shiels all very much attack minded players, and they've got some steely characters in there (Leadbitter, Norris, Healy.) Looks like an Ipswich midfield that will try to get in our faces and stop us playing, and we all know what happens when teams do that! Especially given that ball retention probably won't be as good with Stock missing.

Oh what I'd give to see Gillett and Stock back today! Even Woods would do. We look woefully unbalanced.

It would be nice to have a fit Martin Woods in there too, however we deal with reality..... Ithe em,phasis this week will be to analyse how to get round the \"in the face\" tactic and beat it. This team never stands still on how it adapts, they will have done their homework.

surely he must know this? Why not play Keegan and Wilson away from home when you need some steel?

Seems to be definite change of attitude this year away from home to go for the three points.

Nothing wrong with the line up if the back four functions correctly and Wilson puts in a decent performance.

Fingers crossed it happens for a change.  :S

Fingers crossed that Kilgallon has begun to have an effect now he has had time to have a few training sessions with the lads.
