Is there some technicality in what the defender does that somehow makes it a backpass? or something like that.
Spot on fella. Weirdest rule I've heard of:"If a player uses a deliberate trick while the ball is in play to pass the ball to his own goalkeeper with his head, chest, knee, etc. in order to circumvent the Law, irrespective of whether the goalkeeper touches the ball with his hands or not. The offence is committed by the player in attempting to circumvent both the letter and the spirit of Law 12 and play is restarted with an indirect free kick"And he gets a booking.
We played on Sunday..Opposition had the ball on the centre spot, ready to take the kick off for the second half. Whistle went and a player just shot (the other opposition player stood with him didnt touch it). The ref allowed play to carry on and said the rules have changed now, as long as the ball goes forward from the kick off it counts. Is this correct? Was a new one to me anyway?..
Can you be offside when the keeper kicks out of his hands? I'm assuming you can, i know you can't be from a goal kick.
