Why don't we get players signed up before their contracts are up? Tommy Spurr all over again. I said it then and ill say it now, we are not a well run/efficient club in terms of contracts
Whose to say we haven't offered him a contract or tried to offer him a contract before now?

Both Wellens and Spurr were offered contracts in time, but players and especially agents will always wait until the last moment to see if anything more lucrative is around the cornerIMHO nothing the club could have done.

If his agent knew QPR were interested he'd tell him to hold off signing to see if any offers forthcoming so he can get a pay day from him again.
So now we're expected to offer contracts to match those that QPR can? Even with the so called investment that everyone goes on about, QPR level wages would still be too much.If Richie leaves, good luck to him. If he stays, great.
