Just heard the news headlines. Apparently Giggs is to be the short term manager and is not to be considered for the job on a full time basis. This is old news. I reported this fact yesterday. The world's media must try harder to keep up with me.

They are actually a lot worse off now than any other big club because the American owners loaded the club with huge debt in a leveraged buyout. The club is now run for the benefit of the Glazers and the banks. Liverpool are another club that is run this way. No other big club in the world is 'run' this way and long term it spells disaster for both clubs.

There's a lot of truth in this, Man U and Liverpool both have a very big problem while Chelsea and Man City and maybe even Arsenal in future have oil rich owners willing to pump money in, rather than take it out.

This tidal wave of big money flooding into just four or five clubs isn't great news for English football, particularly when the tide is likely to go out for at least two of them. At least there is the novelty of seeing the hegemony shaken up.

I think part of the glazers financing was based on guaranteed champions league football for the foreseeable future. Be an interesting season for them next season.

welcome to the real footballing world Manchester united

There will be a bit of leeway but Manchester United can't afford to be without Champions league football for very long. A top four finish next season is imperative, if a one season blip becomes two seasons then I suspect people will start to get anxious.

their sponsors and Asian shirt sales are their only saving grace.

i cant help think sticking Neville giggs butt and scholes in charge will help, nor having fergusen help select the new manager. They will become the new Liverpool with all the old successful players and managers sticking the boot in after every defeat or failure, giving it the old 'back when we were winning championships'
just look at Hanson and his band of merry Liverpool champs.
Theyve been a weight on liverpools shoulders for years and have suffered from it

There was a financial expert on SSN yesterday explaining the decision. Basically they can afford one season out of it but must get in CL after next season. Hence making the decision now so the new man has all summer and gives them the best chance possible to achieve it.

Looking at that team, they will have a job on without 4 or 5 top players in my opinion.

Giggs is to be the next manager. Until the end of the season. Then a big name coming in with Giggs as assistant.

What did I tell you.
