Guess the gate versus Port Vale

First round of our little forum competition then, which we'll run for every home game this season.

Simply guess the attendance for the first game against Vale.

Please also remember to add in the minute of the first goal scored in case of any tie break etc.

Object of the game
Through the Viking Supporters Co-operative on the Viking chat website, supporters are invited to take part in a new competition that we’ll be hosting.  This is the ‘Guess the Gate’ competition.  The object of the game is simple, guess the attendance for the next DRFC home fixture.


Scoring
The scoring for the game is very simple and will be based upon the closeness to the total match attendance confirmed by DRFC on the official website only.

Entrants will gain points based upon their variance from the actual confirmed attendance.  These are as below;

0 = 10 points
1-50 = 8 points
51-100 = 7 points
101 - 200= 6 points
201 - 300= 5 points
301 - 400 = 4 points
401 – 500 = 3 points
501 – 750 = 2 points
751 – 1000 = 1 point
1001+ = 0 points

Match Winner = 3 points
Match runner-up = 2 points
Match 3rd place = 1 point

In the event of a tie, entrants will be encouraged to enter a weekly tie breaker (failure to enter this will count as no entry for the tie break section).  The tie break question will be to guess the minute of the first goal in the game, the closest wins.  In the event of no goals being scored the previous match tie breaker will be used and so on until a final winner is decided for the week.


Entry and prizes
Entrance will be free to all and all entries must be completed prior to 1PM matchday for Saturday games or 6PM matchday for Tuesday evening games.  Entries must be placed on the forum thread for the upcoming match in order to count.  If more than one entry is received per person, the latest entry before the deadline from that poster will be taken to be their final entry.

Prizes will be provided in two areas.  There will be overall prizes for the winner across the season (and potentially second and third) and also prizes provided for the monthly winner every month across the season.  More information regarding these will be announced shortly.

There are some optimistic souls on here! Don't know how many season tickets we sold but even this number is going to be discounted by summer holidays. We are also playing crap opposition who not only won't bring many but won't attract any mythical Doncastrian floating fans to attend.

Will be amazed if gate tips over 6250 absolute max.
