I can relate to the cider thing as I got seriously drunk on it in my student days and haven't bothered since. In the case of Pernod though, one taste was enough to put me off for life. Now it's just beer, red wine and malt whisky for me, but not at the same time!

I dont mind mayonnaise, but you're dead right. It sneaks in everywhere these days - presumably cos its easier to spread and cheaper than any of the butter substitutes? I used to love egg sandwiches. Sad, I know. But there it is. But you try buying a plain egg sandwich these days. Every single one has been infiltrated by that bloody mayonnaise.Tell you something else that sneaks everywhere too: rabbit food! Why does every sodding sandwich in this country have to have a bloody piece of soggy lettuce or even soggier cucumber in it????Bob
