I wasn't born when the miners strike took place but just the same as the rest of the following generation, we suffered the effects of Thatcherism and as a worker, I still suffer for the behaviour of the Nottinghamshire scabs. If one child has to ask what a scab is and have it explained that there's not much lower than being a scab then its worth it.
Thatcher and her government caused the mining industry to fail, not from those in Nottinghamshire who wanted to carry on working. Those working in the coke plants and mines throughout the strikes were a side show; the mines were going to shut anyway, and Scargill didn't help the cause in the long run either. I'm with mrfrostsdad on this one.
:welcome:Does anybody want to consider how much of our support comes from Nottinghamshire. I'm from Retford as dozens more are. I didn't work in the pits back then so not a scab either.
Would not sing it me sen as I don't sing at football ,but is this just not a chant that helps generate a atmosphere during the football that all and sundry claim is missing.Suppose Mansfields answer would on the line of singing Yorkshire bas**rds etc etc ,that don't upset me as take it as part of the atmosphere as football is all about tribes is it not.Don't run onto the pitch ,don't sing scab , don't stand up, sit down, don't do this or don't do that,Which basically means Plaese come in stay seated, sing nice songs soon to be introduced stand up and clapp the other team when they score .Get some b*llocks back into it
What the feck is wrong with you???I won't call you football fans because that has nothing to do with football. Screaming and shouting 'scabs'. None of you were even born when the miners strike was in full swing and the only scabs you know about is the feckin scabs you pull off your noses.Your football team has just won promotion but you're still not happy. Knocking seven bells out of each other. You're all absolutely pathetic and a disgrace to the football club. And talk about show yourselves in your true colours. I've never seen anyone run so fast when the cops turned up. Cowards every one of you.Just stay away if you get any pleasure out of that.
MrfrostdadThe National Union of Mineworkers caused the downfall of the mining industry.A Labour Government closed more mines than the Tories ever did.Don't get me arguing politics ffs!! This lot today have probably never even heard of Arthur Scargill or Maggie Thatcher!!what a load of tosh if that was the case why not a public enquiry ????? like Hillsbrough
Mr Frost What caused it then?Have a Public Enquiry that will tell you the truth but you Dont Want to KNOW the truth hurts
