you can tell why he  has never won the league with all his chopping and changing believing the league was won , his arrogance cost us but we are still promoted

I don't think these losses are a bad thing. Without them we may have kept the same squad but clearly big changes need to be made before the league 1 campaign. The defence has more holes than my string vest, Conor Grant shows no interest in playing for us imo and playing May has also been a bad pick for me for all his endeavour. Marquis and Williams got us where we were. I don't think Marquis feels as effective without his strike partner beside him.

Unbelievable
46 games in the season, we struggle for only 4 of them and the manager has lost the plot.
Yet we're promoted 🙈

It's hilarious. Thank God our board isn't as fickle as our fanbase or we'd be changing manager every 5 games.

For heaven's sake, you lot, what would your reaction be if we win at 'Pools next Saturday and Plymouth fail to win at Grimsby? Just to remind you that if this scenario occurs then we're the champions. Cue a completely different reaction.
Yes well said.
Yes I am really angry and I am devastated that we may have blown being Champions from the position we were in but the knee jerk reactions on this forum once again are quite unbelievable.
The players don't lose deliberately do they.
DF starting with 1 striker seemed strange. To play the last 15 with 4 strikers was even more ridiculous as we had no midfield to give them any service. Williams and May never received 1 decent pass in to feet.
There has been far too much tinkering with the team in the last few matches. Hence the rhythm and the momentum that we had has disapated.
We desperately need a left back and I am sorry Craig Alcock as hard a worker he is just isn't good enough for League 1 ( his distribution is awful ) so unless Mitchell Lund is the answer we will also need a right back. I am also concerned Butler will be found out in the league above due to his lack of pace, so I think we need another centre back also.
If the last few weeks have shown DF that the defence is not good enough then the poor results may have been a blessing in disguise.
NOW THAT IS WHAT I CALL TURNING A HUGE NEGATIVE INTO A POSITIVE
We have had a poor defence all season and DF knows this . We are a good team but as individuals we only have a few good ones i.e. Houghton , Copps , Rowe , Butler ,Marquis and Blair. The rest seem average but effective in League 2.
IF ... we are to hit the ground running next season we need to introduce more steel into the side upfront and at the back . We are fading out because the players have been playing at the top of their game every week and now it's caught up with them and fatigue has set in . We have one last opportunity to put in good performance and make Plymouth /Portsmouth do the same .

Butler ain't good enough for the league above. Good league 2 defender at best. If he is one of our centre back pairing next season then we will ship goals.

We have more players than what you have listed capable for league one but defensively we will need a lot of work. Baudry is the only defender we have who is good enough for that level. I expect Wright to be as well but he's not played league one so we shall see.

Is it the defenders fault or is it the fact that Fergie is incredibly tactically naive and his only tactic is to go out and score more than the opposition. Which is fine if you have in form strikers at your disposal but Marquis has been poor since he won his award and Williams has been shocking all season.

The plot is prepare for League 1. Within this, I think Fergie was still aiming for the title and didn't expect things to have dipped as much as they have done. The dip is more the fault of the players than the manager.

We crossed the line which marked the aim of the season, promotion, and pretty much the whole side has slipped back a gear. Maybe this is understandable in terms of basic psychology, and maybe this will mean the players will benefit in the long run. Lots of maybe's - "Fergie losing the plot" is off the mark.

Defence not good enough neither are we up front.   Thank god for marquis otherwise we would have struggled again. Midfield is strong but no end product.

24 hours on and I'm sad that we've let the title slip but really, I reckon the management and players will be really gutted. It's a championship on their CV and a medal they've just about thrown away. For us it's just bragging rights and the pride in our club going up as champions.

I'm not going to dwell on it too much. It's been a good season when all is said and done. We're up at a canter and I still believe we are the best team in the division. If we go up as champions next week it's deserved. If we don't, it's not.
