Just remember Fergie thought Riccardo Calder was a footballer.

There's loads of title winning managers who have made bad signings. Even his father. What's your point?

Before we go any further what's the point of all the People who want DF out and belittling his side going to Arsenal on Wednesday night. It's not the a game we should win in fact we might get humiliated so it will give them more nails to put in his coffin. Supporters!!

I think most people would agree that Wednesday's game will have no bearing on how Fergie is perceived by the fans. It is the bread & butter of the league that counts!!

It will get better but it'll be down to the owners and their decision making onhow this season league campaign ends up.

Alex Ferguson thought spending 15 million on Bebe was a good idea, so what of it?

Wayne Thomas was excellent in trials. That's why SOD signed him.

Fergie has made some great signings for us and some unbelievable ones for Peterborough.
Spitting out bad signings as though it means you're a bad manager is daft

Probably a link there... not every manager can be the greatest manager in the history of the club, there has to be some bad (Dickov, Weaver) and some middling (Fergie).
Man United are only just stepping out of Sir Alex's shadow. Liverpool still haven't replaced Bob Paisley.
Fergie won't be as good as SOD, because SOD was one of the best managers we've ever had. A perfect storm happened when SOD was in charge, complete luck that all the components came together successfully. It was a one in a generation thing. People were spoilt.

You may want to check what perfect storm actually means...

No I'm not,
I'm saying he's the best manager we've ever had but he still signed a few shit players,
So the subject of this post is nonsense

With a big squad you can accommodate the odd poor signing, here and there, but not in a smaller squad.

Personally I thought the Dickov years saw prettty much the worst football in the last 25 years bar the 97/98 season. Absolutely dreadful.

However, he managed in the Championship without any prior experience and ok with some half decent cash, but he came exceptionally close to keeping us up. Bizarre how he managed that, but you have to credit him there.

Overall though I can not think of a manager other than Weaver who delivered such little enjoyment on a Saturday afternoon.
