After last week Kyle Hogg tweeted "When we beat Yorkshire next week do we send them down?!" For some reason he's been pretty quiet today. Also found out today that because I bought tickets for the Pakistan test this year I can get up to 4 tickets for each day of the Ashes game at Headingley next year. All in all a pretty successful day!YOOOOOOOOOOOORKSHIRE!Hes not quick enough for test level is he? Suck a gulf between county cricket and test cricket these days. I thought that about Sam Curran, but he hasn't done too badly. There are a few genuinely fast bowlers about - Jamie Overton, Olly Stone, Zak Chappell - but they are all injury prone. You need to include one of those alongside skilled fast-medium bowlers like Anderson, Broad and Woakes. Coad probably fits into that group.

The county championship works on a points system, the winner being the team with most points in the first division. The points are currently awarded as follows, with a draw increasing to 5 points [18] from 2014:Win: 16 points + bonus points.Tie: 8 points + bonus points.Draw: 5 points + bonus points.Loss: Bonus points.Bonus points are collected for batting and bowling. These points can only be obtained from the first 110 overs of each team's first innings.[19] The bonus points are retained regardless of the outcome of the match.Batting200-249 runs: 1 point250-299 runs: 2 points300-349 runs: 3 points350-399 runs: 4 points400+ runs: 5 points
Currently 17 points ahead of Lancs.Do we get another 5 if no result/further play possible?
Match abandoned - we need 2 Points now and forecast better. Should get 2 surely
(Relief - but we should always be nearer top than botttom - even though we always loan our best Players to ECB)
I think something is wrong with cricket organisation..Test players hardly ever get to play for their counties in the 4 day game, to recover or maintain form as well as to play for the home club..Whilst I can see why the one day games and T20 are popular, I noticed quite a few times over the middle of summer from June through July where hardly any 4 day cricket took place.. I seem to remember checking the bbc cricket website one time in July to find Yorkshire didn’t have a game of any format for a period of about 9 days..That’s crazy..!
20twenty is killing the County Championship, just like it is doing to club cricket and it will do to the majority of test cricket
