Chorley Tickets are going offsale ....
« on November 09, 2018, 01:14:13 pm by Donnywolf »
... at 3pm today
Still quite a few left unsold - but will there be pay on the Day ? According to what I have read Chorley are NOT allowing walk ups on the day

At the moment we look to be on course for an average away following. 650 ish ?

Probably about right for a Non League Team away ?

There’s 5 of us going to the England - New Zealand rugby league match instead... booked tickets months ago before rovers game was announced. Selling around 650-700 seems to be the standard away following for us now days.

Poor sales for this one surprisingly. A fairly local non league FA Cup tie and all that.

Did all those fixtures kick off at 12:45pm on a Sunday?

its on remembrance Sunday, some people may want to spend quality time with their families and appreciate how important they are, putting football into perspective

add to the fact that we have been playing tripe and can't defend for our lives, I do not consider this a definite route to round 2

Maybe cos our so called fans are not interested anymore

Or some of our fans would quite like to go to more games than they do, but they don't have a lot of spare disposable income as they're stuck working to pay for triple-locked pensions, free travel and free TV licences.

And so they should Dave, those you are talking about worked to pay for the NHS, rebuilt the country after the war, paid way more percentage in income tax than workers do now, and in most cases didn't do drugs, or stabbed people, and most of the older end did 2yrs national service for littlemonetry reward. And paid back the massive debt for the second world war to the U.S.A.
It's just their time to pick up the batten buddy.

Some good points there Selby. Perhaps it would be nice then if people understood that a lot of fans would be quite interested in going to every single away game, but as they're taking their turn with the baton (and are quite happy to), they might not able to make it, however much they'd want to.
Lack of ability, rather than lack of motivation.

I appreciate everything you say Vaya, lots of things take  precedence over games of football, and in most cases rightfully so, one of the main things is the FA cup has lost it's lustre, even to clubs like us, We have not exactly had large cup gates over the last few years, even regular season ticket holders not attending in the earlier rounds.

Anyone who witnessed that at Charlton last week will fully understand why ticket sales for Chorley and Barnsley have been so poor up to now.

Perhaps football should consider why people are a tad more bored with it?  Mind that could just be my take on it with many other things to do.

Might have gone on the Saturday, Sundays it's swimming lessons with my daughter, much more rewarding.  It's part of the reason I wouldn't like us making the premier league.  Football is a Saturday thing for me.

The 5k to Barnsley was a Tuesday night. The 7k yo Sheffield Wednesday was Sunday.

Mixed reports but apparently gonna struggle to take 1500 to Barnsley

Let's be fair as well, we've got about a million away games in a row at the moment, one of which being in London, so it can get pretty expensive.

Our away support has been poor for a while. The atmosphere at Accrington was the worst I can remember at an away game.

Woooo, someone has got a problem with pensioners then.

Were those matches when we were in the Championship?
Even so, they are all much bigger clubs and more attractive opponents than Chorley.
All closer to Donny too.
Or maybe because our recent results have been poor some fans don’t want to go.

I also reckon that some of the morons who turn up in our away support put some supporters off going to away games.
I have a pal who won’t go away because of them.

Hull and Dingles were both in League One and I've got a feeling Forest was as well but I stand to be corrected on that.
We also hadn't played these 'big' teams for a few years and it was also the time of our 'golden generation' too. Probably a multitude of reasons why Away attendances have dropped.

You can't pick out random decent crowds from years gone by for a yardstick. Those were one off crowds, exaggerated ones at that.
