When’s the next meet the board events?
« on June 17, 2019, 08:53:39 pm by since-1969 »
It should be a very interesting conversation.
Not since the club got turfed out of Football League has a squad been so depleted of its quality players . The board are running the club to keep in business but to see what was a squad with potential being dismantled isn’t inspiring . I Watched the Charlton game made feel pleased and that when it counted we had the character to diggin and fight because the players each knew what they could do given the opportunity. With all these players leaving for various reasons it’s got to have had an effect on the planning for next season . Players who we approach and the impression as to why are we letting our best players go or more importantly why didn’t they want to stay . Only a few players have signed the dotted line , 12 out 1 in doesn’t make for a good advert in selling the club to prospect targets . I think Grant McCann isn’t fazed by it as it’s none of his making. But the board had to put some positive slant to all this as the prospects for next season is looking glum already .

I'd like to ask them how their 5 year plan of being a sustainable Championsip club is going.

You keep saying 12 out but include players who either didn't play at all for us last season or maybe made a miniscule amount of appearances.

Usually just after the seasons started. Which is ages away and still time to bring in a few players.

Idd dread to think what you would be like if you supported a club like Bolton or Bury at the minute

Wonder if you'd ask any of these questions to them yourself, since-1969? Aren't you getting bored of posting reams of the same negativity all day?

Even the most positive of fans must be a little worried  about how things are going.

But we don’t and why should it matter , we all look to next season to be better than the last .

I am, yes. Have stated so multiple times on here and on Twitter because it is still mid-June and there is literally months for us to sign players and form a good squad of players. I have the belief in McCann, Baldwin and the staff to do that and make us a fresh, good side who can compete. If September rolls around and we still haven't signed anyone then I'll say otherwise but until the window progresses it isn't justified to be panicking or criticising the club in the manner that yourself and some others are doing.

Who’s panicking it just gets a bit tedious that every year we stutter to get a grip of our recruitment and this season is perhaps more significant after coming so close in the playoffs and with so many negatives happening to the team .

What ever happens weather players come in or don’t, I’ll be there first game of the season to show my support, full faith in the manager to run the club the way he deems so, he’s played in the lower leagues and thinks it’s more sensible to have a team that earn around the same rather than some on big wages to others, and I think that makes sense, let’s see how the team lines up on the start of the season. I remember questioning who the hell wilks and Kane were last season, and he nailed them. Sure he will deliver come August

We've lost a lot of players but that's how it goes when you have some success at this level without going all the way. We have the financial capability to rebuild and do it well, we have done it before (under Saunders) having to build a whole new team at much shorter notice than this summer and we won the title. So people should have a bit of patience and belief in the club. They have earned it this past year for sure.

I'd like to ask them how their 5 year plan of being a sustainable Championsip club is going.
I would like you to post something credible instead of slagging the club off.
Do you want a Football Club that is solvent or do you want boom & bust.
Simple question ok. Which is it you want?

I want us to financially compete with other clubs of our size, not scrimp on everything, even behind the scenes

The pitch is being re laid, the four training pitches are being improved, the stadium exterior is being painted.
Even the changing rooms are being decorated.
What more could you want?

You might want to get hold of a copy of the last stadium fabric report. The place needs hundreds of thousands spending on it.

Unless something serious has failed I can't see how that can be the case? At most the M&E will be starting to show its age now but the building fabric should need nothing more than a spruce up. The club need to be careful of those types of reports as they can paint a worse picture than what in fact is reality.

As fans we pay our required fee and for that we get a nice stadium  to watch our team , a stadium that by my understanding costs the club a lot less than it did when it was ran by the council. Then we were a Championship club  and our overheads a great deal more than now . But as with progress things change and through various dealings the club runs the show pays less in rent , less in wages etc and less in subsidies to the team . It’s a per annual event guessing the budget and every year its “top six” . Players are leaving because of the budget ... Fact !! . McCann stated when contract negotiations were muted “We will not be held to ransom and if players want leave then we will replace them” He had only been in the job a few months and he’s already talking  to clubs mantra . To quote Rab C Nesbit “ I will tell you this” there will be no funds for players , so they’ll  have to come to club for a free  . Marquis will leave and it will be for a none disclosed amount . L1 is our home and they the board don’t fancy flitting any time soon  .  Every thing will come to pass , if we want out of this League it will each And everyone 3-4 x what we are paying now . Sponsors are being taken to the club to the cleaners because there not coughing up , so that’s less money to burn .

Intwrestinf about sponsors, I've noticed the number of boards around the stadium declining season on season.

Round and round we go. Absolutely nothing wrong with the last stadium fabric report, we discussed this before remember?

The local SAG gave us 10 out of 10, the insurers gave us 10 out of 10, as did the EFL.

Are you and RedArmy deliberately trying to do a wind up or something?
You both talk so much negative bullshit it’s embarrassing that you both portray yourselves to be supporters of our great club that is DRFC.
I have never seen so much bullshit spouted on this forum in one evening by two people.
It’s pathetic, embarrassing and very sad.
