As fans we pay our required fee and for that we get a nice stadium  to watch our team , a stadium that by my understanding costs the club a lot less than it did when it was ran by the council. Then we were a Championship club  and our overheads a great deal more than now . But as with progress things change and through various dealings the club runs the show pays less in rent , less in wages etc and less in subsidies to the team . It’s a per annual event guessing the budget and every year its “top six” . Players are leaving because of the budget ... Fact !! . McCann stated when contract negotiations were muted “We will not be held to ransom and if players want leave then we will replace them” He had only been in the job a few months and he’s already talking  to clubs mantra . To quote Rab C Nesbit “ I will tell you this” there will be no funds for players , so they’ll  have to come to club for a free  . Marquis will leave and it will be for a none disclosed amount . L1 is our home and they the board don’t fancy flitting any time soon  .  Every thing will come to pass , if we want out of this League it will each And everyone 3-4 x what we are paying now . Sponsors are being taken to the club to the cleaners because there not coughing up , so that’s less money to burn .

A post full of absolute tosh!!

Where does one begin with such convoluted opinion and thinking?

Since-1969, I take it from you username you started watching Rovers in 1969. If so you know full well that one of the best times to be a Rovers fan has been the last 15 years or so. Therefore could you explain why you are so negative and desperate to knock the board?

I'd like to ask them how their 5 year plan of being a sustainable Championsip club is going.
I would like you to post something credible instead of slagging the club off.
Do you want a Football Club that is solvent or do you want boom & bust.
Simple question ok. Which is it you want?

I want us to financially compete with other clubs of our size, not scrimp on everything, even behind the scenes

The pitch is being re laid, the four training pitches are being improved, the stadium exterior is being painted.
Even the changing rooms are being decorated.
What more could you want?
A lick of paint isn't gonna get us promoted is it?

This thread - the OP - it’s insane. GM has instilled his methods at the club. On and off the pitch. And people are frothing at the mouth as if the owners are somehow in some way deliberately trying to sabotage the club...

It beggars belief. Players come and go. GM was great with recruitment last Summer and he’d only just arrived. Firm but fair. And he’s thorough, importantly.

Stop greetin like bairns. It’ll be good.

I know .. but my point was where has all THIS investment gone as it was in abundance then but it’s gone down ever since . We had a very good team last season but it’s back to the beginning for this . Now that’s sad !

All of you were saying the exact same thing last season were you not...No budget,no hope,no ambition blah blah and we had a great season..You haven't learned much from that..

PS Liam Hodden has just said people will be a lot happier by the end of the week..lets hope so just to put a end to this impending doom..

Somehow, i suspect some people wont be.  We could sign Ronaldo and Since-1753 would complain he's not Messi

What the f**k are you talking about? We've signed one player (which is in line with most League 1 clubs), we've got several in the pipeline, pre-season training hasn't even started yet. Just because we've refused to piss money up the wall on players who either aren't good enough or don't want to be here does not mean the board are stealing money from the club, which is a serious accusation.

Mods, why are we still persisting with the clown? I get we have a variety of opinions on here, but this clown is extremely negative, contributes nothing to any discussion and blockades up the board with his tedious, fictional, unwarranted, illogical shite. Just ban him.

Because I’m asked to buy a season ticket for a club that is run by millionaires , when Peter Wetzle or David Attey or Jones ran the club they were local successful businessmen who gave up their time to keep the Club afloat  and didn’t grumble nor did the fans . I’m on record as saying how I commend our board . There is one thing I recognise that there is NO magic wand and  their involvement is paramount to the clubs future . But when players are leaving it’s down to lack of funds to prevent it . They are owed £ms  so it’s hard to be critical in the face of this , yet I ask my self what do they won’t to achieve by their involvement and undoubted huge investment . If we let our best players leave after coming so close , what are  supporters supposed to do when their hero s sign for our rivals but we never hear a word about this or what the board want . John Ryan has gone and he took with him the only voice we ever heard then or since . The meeting we have are not working as it’s Grant McCann fronting the bad news and keeping them free from what is their job to tell him you’ve got to except it or lump it . I have 3 season ticket in my family , we live in Sheffield so we’re right in the middle of some real competition but since-1969 I’ve kept the faith and I will remain inspite of disapproval of my views .

So what was your view when Micheal McIndoe, Richie Wellens, Matt Mills, Billy Sharp left to better their careers, did you point the finger at JR for letting our best players go?

There's always bigger fish in football and you know it.

Get a grip. Andrew, Rowe were not our best players. Butler is towards the twilight of his career. Wilks and Kane were not our players to lose.

We're in mid June. I'm sure the rest of us on here suggest you to take a rest for your own sanity.

You were not forced to buy a season ticket though, most football clubs are now run by millionaires and small local (albeit successful) businessmen no longer have the financial clout to be involved. Without hard evidence you cannot say players departures are down to lack of funds. There are many reasons why players leave however in the case of Butler & Rowe it's probably because, quite rightly, in my opinion they were offered reduced terms and they believed they were worth more. Our manager obviously thought they weren't and again rightly refused to increase the offer. It looks to me that in Danny's case his agent engineered the move to Fleetwood. With regards to the loan players (Downing excluded) it was never in our hands to decide their future. I believe McCann when he says we just could not meet Downings demands and good luck to Paul I'm sure he can find a club that will pay him 5-6k a week.
