He had already said they were contracted to the end of the month and that remains the same. Again, I would expect him to be coy about anything beyond that.

To be fair he's hardly likely to publicly say they're shit and he wants rid when we still might need to call on them before the end of the month...

If they are actually here when the window closes I'll be disappointed, but take this with a grain of salt.

I just find it frustrating how we’re always working around the clock but then we end up with nothing yet other clubs have already signed some of their targets.

Yes that is frustrating but what else can be done.?

There are two sides to every transfer deal.

I would prefer to give some of the youth team players a place on the bench for experience.

Hopefully, sooner rather than later, we’ll get better in.

I don’t know to be honest, but if it keeps happening then we surely need to be looking at why.

Rivals such as fleetwood, Peterborough and Portsmouth did lots of businesss in the summer and they’ve already recruited good players in January, whereas we struggled in the summer so you’d like to think we had deals lined up for January but Moore states there’s nothing at the minute

Agreed Dickos, the fact that other clubs seem to be able to “get deals over the line” whereas we have recently failed is what puts doubt into the minds of supporters.
We have five games to play before the end of January and it is very clear that we need a decent striker as soon as possible as well as a “Wellens” type midfielder.
I dearly hope we don’t let this run too long before we strengthen the team.

I hear what you saying but in his previous RS interview DM did state that he would be telling Bingham and Thomas their fate after the Oxford game. So if he's publicly saying they are going to be here and "long may it continue" then I fear the worst.

Also when Alfie May was allowed to leave before we had replacements in the building, one reason given was that because we were a nice club we couldn't stand in his way. I'm guessing a nice club like ours wouldn't want to string these two guys along if there was nothing for them here. Surely we would tell them early, so they could get fixed up somewhere else?

What DM actually said was the two lads were still here (their contracts run until the end of the month)  and that they were talking to their agents, and long may that continue. He was being his normal polite self!

Talking to their agents? About what?

Surely, we’re not even considering signing these two?

"both players are still with us, and long may that continue".............. I heard it loud and clear at 2.03 into the clip.  DM goes on to say that we are discussing extensions with their agents.

Yes but listen to the rest of it, at no point does he say we're looking at extending their contracts.

He says, 'both players are looking to extend their contracts'. He doesn't say we are. He then says his focus has been on the festive period. and concludes by saying 'its a discussion that has to be had with the two players and their advisors', 'and as when we're a bit clearer on that we'll come back to you'.

So, were does he say what DRFC want to do?

Their agents will be wanting to keep dialogue open in the hope they get the best for their players.

if DRFC didn't want to extend I would suggest the conversation would have been a pretty short one and would have been concluded by now.

Lets see how things pan out. I hope you are right and DRFC don't want to.

This is 2 young lads who are on short term contracts, currently we don't have to do anything.

Although as you relayed to us yesterday we should help them in their career as we did with May?
Keeping them here all month when we don’t want them wouldn't be paramount to doing our best for them

Completely different scenario.

And do you not think we are helping them with their career by keeping them around? Now, if they had an offer from Cheltenham for example, I'm sure we'd release them from their contracts.

Nothing stopping them or their agents speaking to other clubs, which I would guess they are doing already.

Surely they would rather be earning a wage here whilst looking for another club than just walking away?
Their next club will probably mean a pay cut as well.

I’m not sure we would.

Just hope these aren’t the only two striker we have at the club in a months time

Maybe the discussion are on the back burner just incase we can’t get players in. Leaving options open. I wouldn’t but I’m not the DM who is working hard to get players in and CEO who will trying hard to “get signings done”
