It's getting worse int it?
« on January 18, 2020, 07:08:30 pm by BillyStubbsTears »
Every year, it gets a bit worse.

This entitled bleating everytime we don't steamroller an opponent.

I'll give you my two pennorth. We've just gone toe to toe with a side that will get a top three place. We have matched them in every aspect of play, other than one momentary lapse of concentration where we didn't close down for the goal. We had several chances where shots weren't cleanly struck or deflections took the ball into Marosi's hands. We've had two poor decisions go agai at us (penalty on Ennis and the foul given against us when Marosi spilled a catch).

It happens.

Ennis had an off-day.

It happens.

And then the floodgates open in here.

Quite pathetic to witness the bawling of grown men because they haven't got EXACTLY what they want.

Billy, you are 100% correct, and the sad thing is I think the regulars on here could write  the same names down in a sealed envelope before any game, and get most names correct if we lost the game.

Absolutely we could Brian. It’s very sad and quite pathetic. Like a lot of big baby’s.
Pleased there are a few of us that understand football.

No today was the ceiling that we can’t brake through . DRFC have no intentions of putting investment in the team only token gestures of loans and window shopping for targets that will not come any where near a penny pinching club like ours !!!

Not sure we matched them in the 1st half it was man against boys, last 10 mins and second half we did thou, I think it’s frustration why people are moaning, sadlier went off and we brought a guy on who to be fair did nothing wrong that couldn’t get a contract with a non league team and let’s be honest is no where near good enough for this league, we had may who was a decent squad player who we have let go and not replaced and we have played all season without a decent centre forward when the last few seasons we had one banging 20 goals plus, something somewhere has gone wrong with recruiting and to be fair at this level is not good enough

Completely right BST. I have to log off for the night after a defeat nowadays to avoid being bogged down in the negativity of it all.

Some of the sweary shouting every time we didn't just bang it in the goal from 30 yards from some people sat in front of me today was extremely tiresome. I half wanted to just leave before the end to avoid being around these sorts of fans, but of course I couldn't abandon the team before time!

In general I agree with you though re Bingham his stats are good as far as I can see - excellent goals per minute played, very good ratio of shots on target. He's had far less game time than others and could well be someone that figures. But yes, I would like to see us land that player DM has been trying to get.

Really !! Marquis money ?
Playing staff down to bare bones ,
Shrewsbury walked away from our offer inspite of risking player leaving in the summer that’s how low it was !
We are the only team in the EFL without a club No9 on the books.

We didn't go toe to toe with them. It was more like shadow boxing. We huffed and puffed but didn't throw a punch in anger. One half-decent chance for Taylor and that was it.

On the flip side fellas, it was the 52nd minute before we had a shot on target, at home, really? & for the 2nd home game in a row I wasn't entertained. It's not the lack of effort, or the losing to an extent, it's the lack of poor passing & lack of quality where it matters, in the last third. We will, in my opinion, fall well short of the top six with the current squad. We offered absolutely nothing threat wise in the first half, & huffed & puffed 2nd half when Coventry sat in & let us have the ball. Two or 3 additions & we will have a chance, if not, plan for next season.

Ever heard of Agents. That’s the biggest problem imo.
Well we are not going to pay them ridiculous fees. Well done Rovers. It’s a shame most other clubs don’t take the same stance. The whole game would be better for it.

Have to vary the quick off.    Oppo  team  players just push forward.   To do it everytime is silly .

Firt half was like Sunderland, often eschewing the forward pass, the was the obvious one.

Ennis had it tough.  On his own and gets bullied by defenders.

Second half better intentions.  But just shows we need that forward .  Alfie may could have helped

You’ll struggle to find anyone who’ll claim we played well today. I think the issue is that certain people turn it into an opportunity to slag off the board, manager, players, chips and beer, car parking etc.. anytime we don’t play like the Brazil 1982 team

Agree with what u said there Billy, personally I thought we were in the game up until they scored, then I felt we sort of went into our shell a bit, I thought the next 15/20 mins or so we were poor but finished the first half better! 2nd half I thought we looked more at the races, much better going forward and tbh I thought the goal for us was going to come at one point, but it never did and it is what it is! We lost, it’s not the end of the day, we don’t have a Devine right to win every game! We move on to the next game, which again will be a tough game! guaranteed there will be more losses and also more wins before this season is done with, and we will finish where we are suppose to this season! I mean it could be worse, we could of lost 0-5 at home today like sheff Wednesday to a team that was on a very poor run of form, but we have not!! Onwards and upwards to the next game!

Yep, good summary.

Worth a listen to DM's post match which is now up on the match thread.

There's a message there to all those who's patience is wafer thin.

There are some apologists that will accept anything. I'm not sure what some people were watching but if that is the standard you are happy to accept, save yourself some money and go watch sunday league. It was boring. At one point the ball was passed back to Dieng and he just stood there looking at 10 statues in front of him.

We lost, and we fully deserved to lose. I'm not moaning about losing, I'm moaning about the absolute dross I had to spend £21 to watch.

Where has all this agent nonsense come from?
Nobody has ever suggested from the club that we’re not signing players because of agents
SM has never mentioned agents being an issue.
We’ve signed dozens of players over the last few years and agents haven’t been an issue.

Yet people now all of a sudden are saying agents are the reason we aren’t signing players.

Nonsense

Don't think anyone minds if we lose to a better team but Coventry weren't that good we really need to sort out our set pieces.

Out of all our set plays I think maybe only 2 found one of our players.

Hopefully we won't play that bad again this season or have that many players have that many players have a bad game

You’re missing the point. Nobody is saying it was a good performance. It wasn’t. The point BST and others are making is that the resident doomsayers go into meltdown whenever we don’t play like Brazil 1970.
