Richards not happy at being taken off. Don’t blame him tbh. Game still up for grabs and if we concede he is one that can change the game back in our favour.

This really isn’t a great match. Just hope we can get a win out of it. But getting more nervous

Lokilo getting stronger and stronger. Looks like he believes he has the beating of them.

AJ has done well but looks to be flagging a little now.

Matty Blair has scored assisted by Alfie. Has the Newport keeper scored in that game?

From a goal kick apparenty. Assisted by S. Christoph?

Err...you can’t score direct from a goal kick...unless the Laws have changed this season!
 :)

From the BBC website:

Newport County goalkeeper Tom King scored the first goal of his career to give the Exiles the lead at Cheltenham Town.

The 25-year-old's goal-kick was picked up in the wind before Robins goalkeeper Josh Griffiths was caught out by the bounce as the ball sailed into the net.

Newport players ran all the way back into their own penalty area to celebrate with King, who was included in Wales' international squad for the first time in November 2019.

Stunned by the goal the Cheltenham players appeared to appeal to officials, but after a quick discussion between the referee Peter Wright and the fourth official the goal was given

Obviously the ball was played a second time by an attacker/defender.

Direct from a goal kick is allowed.

Not the greatest of visual spectacles, but we are not allowing a side that's scored a hatful of goals in the last few matches get a look in.

Impressed with the steel we are showing.

AJ seems to be able to cope with league 1 rather well

You are right, B.R.! Quote from the Laws of the Game:

“A goal may be scored directly from a goal kick, but only against the opposing team; if the ball directly enters the kicker’s goal a corner kick is awarded to the opponents if the ball left the penalty area.”

Well, I never knew that! I finished refereeing in 1999, after more than 40 years, and that certainly wasn’t the Law when I retired...I don’t think!
