It was also interesting to hear how much Copps appreciates Brad as a player.

I can believe it. I watch James quite closely and wonder whether he's the real deal in midfield. There aren't many better all round midfielders that's for sure. He glides into positions and if you take you're eye off him for a mo, he crops up in a different part of the pitch. I thought the three of them tonight complimented each other very well. Someone mentioned John Oster recently, and he reminds me of him a bit the way he finds space.I didn't hear all what Copps had to say as I turn the commentary off but some of Copps comments were very refreshing to hear. Reece is still learning and at his rate of improvement, he can still have a big part to play this season in midfield.I wouldn't automatically displace him and shove him back at left back as John is improving all the time there and perhaps gives a bit more power and pace than maybe Reece has, often using his athleticism to his advantage.

I just turn it off when we're under pressure just in case one of the commentators tempt fate. Saves me shouting Shurrup at the TV.
Coppinger said something tonight that made my jaw drop. He said the tracking stats show that Reece James is streets ahead of any other player in the squad for distance run per game.If I heard correctly, he said James averages 11.5km per game, which is up with the distances run by top flight midfielders. There was something else about Coppinger's commentary. At one point in the second half, he was predicting where players would run and where passes would go and precisely that outcome happened. That gives me a very warm feeling about the rest of the season. We are not up in the top two because of flashes of genius or good luck. We are have players combining hard bloody work with intelligent application of what the coaches are instilling into them. We are earning the right to dominate because of this combination. Keep it up lads and this could be a historically good season.

That shows in the fact that whatever 11 he picks in whatever positions we maintain a decent level of performance.
He will still have his rental portfolio.
Think he has a soft spot as they are from same part of world. Also sounds like they had same journey in their careers, starting in Premier League and going backwards.

Started his career with Rossendale Utd.
