Referee still terrible. Bogle goes for a ball from a corner. The Wimbledon player jumps towards the ball and falls over. Little to no contact from Bogle… gives a f**king free kick.

You do wonder what they see, or don’t… bizarre.

Game over? Rovers have to have some belief if they are to win this.

It's a thng these days, happened in the Euros. There to block the ball as others in the wall jump. Makes sense.

It's become a very modern thing - happened a lot in the Euros to counter the free kicks when players put it under a jumping wall. Think Gareth Roberts socred against Forest in 07/08 doing that.

(Does look ridiculous I grant you!)

It could be worse, we could have spent millions and then go down to Morecombe 2-1, I will give the Ipswich manager another 3 games before they sack him.

Paul Cook’s a very good, experienced manager at this level. There’s no way he’ll be jettisoned so quickly.

7 shots today, only one on target. Not good enough, we need finishers, or rather ouras need to be on shooting practice!

They have new owners pumping in big cash & they will want a quick upturn in form. Especially after last season. It might not be after three games but if goes on for 8 or 10 i can see him getting sacked.

Well… I don’t think we deserved to lose but didn’t do enough to win. A draw would have been fair.

Rovers looked like a team of new players. There are positive signs there but we were far too sloppy and disjointed today. Way too many stray passes and caught in possession a lot. We will improve a lot.

The less said about the officials the better. Suffice to say their first goal looked clearly offside and there was all sorts going on in the melee that led to it.

The second goal… seemed harsh. I think the ref’s given handball. Have to see it again.

He gave us f**k all and let Wimbledon do what they wanted to. Dirty, bratty, niggly team… and they were given carte blanche to shithouse all game.

Tiago didn’t show much. He looks a yard off it.
Seaman, Dahlberg standouts. Smith looks handy. Barlow impressed. Rowe showed flashes of quality. CJ was good when he came on.

Overall, disappointed with the result, and Richie will have to figure out how to better teams like this who are aggressive and seek to break up anything, legally or otherwise.

Credit to Wimbledon. They had a plan and were allowed to execute it. But an ugly team to watch. I expect them to be down the bottom end.

Agree about the positives but I think unless we manage to sign a couple of loan players with some pace not much will change. They were a ugly team yes but sometimes that's what you need at this level, I wouldn't bet on us finishing higher than them for sure

Defence was breached twice , so that needs addressing first,  whether it be 4-4-2 or some other formation….we need to buy time without conceding for these first few games until things can be worked out, and the injured can be integrated..

Not a problem but lessons have to learned quickly

Got to say, IMO that was a slight and only slight improvement on the end of last season. I’d like to say things can only get better but after last season I’m not so sure. But we lacked pace down the wings, lacked good passing with to many balls given away and we lacked created chances, there was next to nothing for the front men to work with.

Onwards and upwards

they call it the "draft excluder" position. Darren Moore could still do the draft excluder position at his age - (they sometimes call draft excluders snakes )

One day someone will wack the ball and it will hit the draft excluder person (on the floor) on the head and do him damage.

Ipswich got a late goal to sneak a draw.
