Donny is a shit hole tbf by and large. Glad i moved away as soon as i could but still have lots of family ad friends in the town and surrounds. It will always be the place i was born, raised and became an adult but as soon as i was able to hoof it out of there i took that opportunity.

Gone massively downhill since i left. Other than a nice bus station.

Absolutely tragic that two young lives were lost over probably nothing more than a pub argument .

I lost a mate several years ago who was punched from behind in a Barnsley town centre bar over absolutely nothing although he wasn't a young lad by any means .

It's absolutely tragic with their whole lives ahead of them that this is happening on our streets .

I know. Back in the 90's i knew our village bobbys in Scawsby by name, and they knew me.    One even rode a cycle around and lived on our street.

Even though a lot of us were scallies, we still had respect for the local plods. These days i have no respect for the police whatsoever.

But then I think this is another case of people ignoring the size of Doncaster and dismissing it as another small northern town when it's anything but. I live in Stainforth, a village in peoples eyes yet home to over 6k people and a closed police station. Whilst Facebook isn't always a credible source for news our DN7 facebook group has regular reports of arson, burglary and assault. I'm sure there's a huge debate about respect, parental responsibilities and society in general but I think there's issues caused by lack of police on the beat.

More firearms nonsense in donny the last few days. Reports of a shooting in shitehole balby as well as reports of shots being fired from cars in intake (shithole) and Cantley (never used to be a shitehole but now is). Par for the course in donny these days. In my town I will read about one firearms offence maybe in a whole year.

Well I have one in that very location, I also have two i fra red gates with the alarm in the bedroom and four CCTV cameras around the house, no one gets on my property without me knowing, and I’m prepared if they do

I have a bat also strategically placed for similar reasons. But due to being in Mindanao, Southern Philippines. Mine hits 5.56mm out the end of it.
