Up late, watched The Shining til 1am, never seen it before. Chilling, but some mighty ham acting from Nicholson and Duvall.
Then watched interviews by Cliff Byrne and the rambling verbose Adkins. So got to bed at 2,then couldn't sleep ffs.
Anyhow, a magnificent 2 (it told me so) today.

I'm still not struck by the aptly named "Bogs" , and I still can't see how people are allowed to Smoke inside that little Courtyard between Lounge , Bar and bogs

It is substantially uncovered , but imo is on the premises. I wonder if it has been subject to scrutiny , after all the smoking rules were altered to "protect" Staff and others from passive smoking yet there you have to pass through a cloud of blue smoke to have a pee

That apart I very rarely go anywhere else , the BB beer overcoming my other concerns.

I had puncture repaired yesterday and was apparent that the smoking ban doesn't apply in tyre repair places

Wow , I just googled to see if smoking or bogs had ever been an issue .

On Facebook I found nothing , but the last few Reviews are certainly anti The Plough for totally different reasons

It's a great pub, was in there a few weeks ago with my best mate, who, some years ago was 'going out' with the barmaid. According to him, to say she had some adventurous sexual preferences would be understating it.
One good thing though, the bogs don't turn your stomach as much as they used to.

I was a regular in the LP for a couple of decades when Rod and Val took it over. Not many pubs like it around these days.

Muttley and I ran the Little Plough football team for many years. No matter how many trophies we won there were always more Darts ones.
We did piss off the old guys a few times though by winning the Sunday Domino handicap.

Still see Val around Intake and Town moor. Lovely lady!

Did anyone partake of our Cheltenham Gold Cup fiestas in the LP.
We did that for a decade or more and Val did a buffet of Yorkshire tapas to keep us all going. Then to the Raaj after racing.

No Mug but I wish I had, sounded like fun.

I used to go to Cheltenham regularly for the festival.
Had my best day ever there about 15 years ago.
Had £20 on a 33/1 winner on the Tote which paid nearly 50/1. Drew £980 on that. Then I really fancied a horse in the Kim Muir, High Chimes it was called so had £60 on it at 16/1. The bookie laid me £1000 to 60 giving me the fractions, he obviously didn't fancy it. It won by about 15 lengths.

Then I met Peter O'Sullevan and had a chat with him about Celtic Gold, Wolfie, who he remembered well, he even remembered the big races he won!
