Just terrible watching it burn. Village near Rainham so surrounded by Marshes, Golf course , grassland and farmers fields all dryFire starts somehow and what a disaster zone it is. Poor buggers getting burnt out of house and home one by one. Inferno

Inferno Started in a compost heap that became overheated apparently.The smallest thing can spark a fire when everything is so tinder dry, a shard of broken glas reflecting the sunlight for instance.

On Peat Moors glass bottles were a no no for that reason. There were still some huge fires out there though .... almost impossible to extinguish as well [/quotI worked on Thorne moors for a few months in the mid eighties between jobs. Peat moor fires are terrifying as they burn underground.
