How on earth can rovers be outsiders for this?
This isnt a biased question on my behalf. We are above them in the league. Have not lost yet this season, and are at home.
Bizarre odds. Do the bookies know something we don’t?

They have probably seen us play and think we have been lucky with the results we have had.

Wow!!
Just looked on Betfair Exchange at the Doncaster/Stockport/Draw market and over £18,000 has been traded on our game already. The 2nd most traded game in L2 has under £6,000 traded and most games are under £1,000.

Of the £18k traded on our game, £15,500 has been to back Stockport and under £2k to back us! !

If I didn't know better, I'd say we have agreed to take a dive tomorrow.

If Miller plays it’s a good price in a very even contest. We have home advantage and a more settled squad. They are overrated as to how good they are. Betting on the opposition when they play could give you a decent profit.

That explains it. Stockport have lumped on so they have to shorten the odds.

Why would our game have that sort of money on it - looks dodgy to me

It is odd. Stockport have three key players out too.

That sort of betting pattern could lead to a late change of the match officials.

I’ve had a right lump Stockport at 11/5. Ridiculous opening price. I thought they go off about 5/4. May even be shorter.

Has our game been covered by a big tipster account?

Weren't the odds v Sutton a bit strange too?

I seem to remember a couple of the lads in the pub before the game putting bets on at 3/1 for a Rovers win, with the Sutton odds being a lot shorter?

I would suggest a few have had a look out our XG and think we’ve fluked results so Stockport were initially a decent price.

Stockport now 21/20 on skybet. That’s as good as even money whereas rovers are 9/4. Summat not right with these odds.

At half time someone near me at the Sutton game put a tenner on Rovers to win at 12/1 even though we were behind.

Thanks Graham!

Update on the odds Rovers are almost 3/1 now.

Stockport half time Rovers Full time 46-1 on Betfair and price will probably rise.

Stockport half time Draw full time 16-1

At 11pm, Over £22k has been staked on Betfair Exchange on the Doncaster/Draw/Stockport match odds.
To put that in perspective, Barrow v Walsall has had £140 staked.
More has been placed on the outcome of our game than the rest of the division put together.
We went out to 2.9/1 but are currently trading at 5/2. Stockport evens and the draw is 2.65/1

Morning punters.
At 9am, there has been nearly £25k wagered on our match outcome.
We are out to 3/1, the draw is 2.6/1 and Stockport are 1.12/1.

80% of the cash staked has been to back Stockport.

There is a syndicate or two behind this betting. Has to be. I know Stockport were early faves pre season, but have not had a good start. Rovers stats for the games so far have not been good, results aside.
It will be an interesting match for sure. And I’m making the pilgrimage North for it.
The bet of the night has to be Madden to score at any time. He seems to like bagging goals against Rovers.

P v o makes interesting reading. There are around 39 wins predicted (hoped for) and just one or two predicting a loss or draw.
Unfounded optimism ?

Interesting to compare the odds for anytime goal scorer too.
Madden is 13/8 to bag a goal anytime.
Compared to Miller who is 5/2.
There really is no confidence in the bookies for rovers tonight, across the board of the odds.

Liverpool were enormous home favourites last night too. Just saying.

You’d expect Liverpool to have been favourites last night. I’d expect rovers to be slight favourites in tonight’s game, all things considered. I’ve been around betting long enough to know that the odds are skewed tonight.
The bookies are basically saying, yes, Stockport we’re one of the faves for promotion pre season, rovers are on downward spiral following relegation last season, but Stockport have not had a rip roaring start, neither have rovers, but we still think Stockport will win. Away from home. At a ground they have never played at. Against a team who have had a slightly better start to the season. And they have at least one key player and two squad players out.
Just doesn’t add up. Unless there have been large sums placed on Stockport. Which, looking at Betfair seems to be the case.
Let’s hope their optimism is their downfall.

It's worth knowing that Betfair Exchange isn't a bookmaker. It's a 'Facilitator' that enables one person to bet against another and they take a commission from the winner.
Betfair Sportsbook is a traditional Bookie.

I have had a Betfair exchange account for years. I use it for match betting purposes to lay bets. I know how it works. Exchange or not. There is money being lumped on Stockport to win. My use of the term bookie was misplaced, granted.
