GMS on Injuries

Anderson & Knoyle - back spasms
Long - hyper extension of the knee

All 3 could be going for scans on Monday.

Long’s injury sounds the worst?

Who was it who was asking why have we got 5 centre backs?

Anderson the worst for me. Sounds like it’s a secondary injury to the problems he’s had. Hopefully he can shake it off

Anderson had a foot injury previously, so unlikely that a back spasm is connected.

Was Maxwell a tactical change? Strange decision if so given that we were already so stretched at the back.

That is what I thought too.
McSheff said in his interview though (I have just listened to it) that he wanted to get Rowe to left back to take care of Bolton and his physicality.

I thought Maxwell struggled today, Tommy definitely did better with that side.

Petch and Flint two good central defenders in the u18s, and massive and good players.
Hopefully not required but very good cover, and like Faulkner no shrinking violets.

If he has back spasm’s, nothing to do with his previous problems. He had plantar Fasciitis which is a foot tendon inflamation previously.

it's a welcome change that we have lads coming through that have some size about them and arnt scared to mix it with the men. Too often wee slips of lads have the skill but just can't challenge physically..

Love this sketch about George Bush and Condoleezza Rice:

Hu's the new leader of China

Playwright Jim Sherman wrote this after Hu Jintao was named chief of the Communist Party in China. (We take you now to the Oval Office.)

George: Condi! Nice to see you. What's happening?

Condi: Sir, I have the report here about the new leader of China.

George: Great. Lay it on me.

Condi: Hu is the new leader of China.

George: That's what I want to know.

Condi: That's what I'm telling you.

George: That's what I'm asking you. Who is the new leader of China?

Condi: Yes.

George: I mean the fellow's name.

Condi: Hu.

George: The guy in China.

Condi: Hu.

George: The new leader of China.

Condi: Hu.

George: The Chinaman!

Condi: Hu is leading China.

George: Now whaddya' asking me for?

Condi: I'm telling you Hu is leading China.

George: Well, I'm asking you. Who is leading China?

Condi: That's the man's name.

George: That's who's name?

Condi: Yes.

George: Will you or will you not tell me the name of the new leader of China?

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: Yassir? Yassir Arafat is in China? I thought he was in the Middle East.

Condi: That's correct.

George: Then who is in China?

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: Yassir is in China?

Condi: No, sir.

George: Then who is?

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: Yassir?

Condi: No, sir.

George: Look, Condi. I need to know the name of the new leader of China. Get me the Secretary General of the U.N. on the phone.

Condi: Kofi?

George: No, thanks.

Condi: You want Kofi?

George: No.

Condi: You don't want Kofi.

George: No. But now that you mention it, I could use a glass of milk. And then get me the U.N.

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: Not Yassir! The guy at the U.N.

Condi: Kofi?

George: Milk! Will you please make the call?

Condi: And call who?

George: Who is the guy at the U.N?

Condi: Hu is the guy in China.

George: Will you stay out of China?!

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: And stay out of the Middle East! Just get me the guy at the U.N.

Condi: Kofi.

George: All right! With cream and two sugars. Now get on the phone.

(Condi picks up the phone.)

Condi: Rice, here.

George: Rice? Good idea. And a couple of egg rolls, too. Maybe we should send some to the guy in China. And the Middle East. Can you get Chinese food in the Middle East?

I saw a vid of Abbott & Costello do the same about new and existing baseball players in their local team. It was a "live" stage show, and was absolutely amazing to watch. It was so fast, I was having trouble keeping up with it, how the hell they remember a sketch as complicated as that is beyond me. I struggle remembering the words to Happy Birthday. It was funny as hell. I will check Youtube se if I can find the above sketch as well.

I've got that, it seems like nothing, until you realise you can't get rid of it.  :crying:

Sorry, probably didn’t explain what I meant. I meant when players are out for long periods of time, they often pick up other niggles and injuries because they are over compensating for the area initially injured.

Nothing on DFP website (yet) this morning other than a new piece where Seaman can go on loan..

Seaman going out on loan releases money. We then negotiate with Portsmouth to pay the additional amount to Freeman's salary and "bobs your uncle"

Freeman signed for one year.

Seems daft sending our only other right back out on loan. Hopefully Knoyle isn't injured for Saturday

Seems daft sending our only other right back out on loan. Hopefully Knoyle isn't injured for Saturday

He’s been available for loan since the end of last season.

This is what McSheffery said
Quote
Doncaster boss McSheffrey said: “We had a chat with Charlie at the end of the season. He’s still contracted, but if Charlie was able to find himself a loan he could go.
"He’s a good lad, he turns up, he trains, but ultimately it’s one of them”

McSheffrey added: “If we need him he could be playing, but he could leave if he wanted to.”

An injury to first-choice right-back Kyle Knoyle – the severity of which is not yet known – may well open the door for Seaman to stake a claim for regular first-team football at the Eco-Power Stadium.

For me if Knoyle injury is bad and could be out for a while then I believe we will go for a better right back than Seaman.

It's a strange one as I don't see seaman as a defender but more an attacking midfielder, the club must want him gone with the way it was put ,it's one of them

Regardless of his position he's shown us nothing to suggest he's capable of playing at the level we require.  It's probably a loan option because nobody would take him permanently.
