I’ve just been having soup and one small tortilla wrap each day for lunch at work for the last four weeks. I’ve also been careful with the booze and no crisps. I’ve no idea how much I’ve lost as we don’t have scales but my t-shirts that I couldn’t wear anymore are getting an airing again.

Well it’s been a hard slog, and I gained about a stone since my last update, but at weigh in this morning I’m over the moon at finally getting to the 6st loss mark

Crikey, if I lost 6st I’d nearly be 50% lighter, well done filo, if you don’t mind me asking how much do you weigh now.

Well done Filo feels good dosent it.
My current is 21st down to 11.5 in 2 years with help from works dietician's . It's not been easy but it becomes more easy as it goes on. A lot of it is mental as much as it is physical, as in accepting this is a whole lifestyle change and not just a diet.

Well done Filo.

I'm currently on the 16:8 fasting plan. I've lost a stone and down to 14st 4lb.

Ive totally cut out white and brown bread, only have pitta bread as there's only 3 natural ingredients in them.

I've cut a few other bits and pieces out but I've now found that if I eat rice, pasta or potatoes it bloats me up and ruins me for hours.

The struggle I battle with is that my job is really physical so when I get home I feel like ploughing food into me.

Keep up the good work though mate, what's your target?

No target really just keep going until I feel right, i guess 15 to 16st would be good from where I’ve come from

Eliminate any bread of any type, poison. Eliminate pasta too and any wheat based products, turns into sugar and then fat.
Keto/ carnivore is the only option for humans. That food is what we evolved to eat, meat.

Well done filo, nudga, I stopped eating marge/butter maybe 30+ years ago mainly on sandwiches not religiously like, if it's a bought one I'll eat it but I don't add it to food, spuds etc. I put on weight on hols but will lose within a month or two on return.

Occasionally, if someone must,  but lots of it and see your belly fat grow.
Have butter but certainly not margarine and avoid like hell seed oil products.
Best most valuable meat? Beef mince, 20% fat and the cheapest.
Ignore the loonies telling you to avoid animal fat. It's the body's favourite fuel and meat the best nutrient.

I've also cut out most things with seed oils in them.
Very difficult to do as most products have it in.
Treated myself to a fat steak with garlic butter last night.

I don't drink much but I do like a couple of pints with my mates before KO.

Sorry to jump on your thread Filo but thought this might be worth sharing.

I've pushed through the 18:6 fasting three times this week and weirdly,  I didn't feel hungry at dinner time, I didn't even realise what time it was.
Admittedly the weather helps as my water intake has doubled.
I have found though that I dont crave chocolate, crisps or bread now.
I always had that little voice telling me to go to the fridge and have a little choccy bar bit he seems to have vanished.

I'm down to 14st 2lb. My target is 13st 10lb but mainly I want to trim down belly fat.

The test will.come in winter when the body naturally wants/needs more calories  for energy to stay warm.

Great work by all here. Just to add my own journey, those of you that know me would be aware that at my biggest I was in the region of 35 stone. With help (gastric surgery), Slimming World and some great friends I got down to 16 stone and in february had surgery to remove excess skin on my stomach (NHS but linked to a health condition so surgeon got it approved). Its still bigger than some but I get a kick out of wearing 38" jeans when I remember having to buy stuff from America as I topped out at 68" waist around the time of the play off final at Stoke. Its a long haul and hard so my hat is off to Filo and Nudga and anyone else in that position

Well done LDR.

Although I've never been that heavy, I topped out 15st 5lb and I felt awful and got sick of the "banter" of being a bit overweight.

Well done all, I’m just playing at it compared to you guys. Lost 2 stone and the difference it’s made to my knees is immense. My daughter had gastric surgery in turkey 18 months ago and has lost about half her body weight - the change in her outlook and energy is amazing

As part of training we were given a 2lb bag of sugar to run around with, a demonstration of the effects of extra weight.

Little update from me.

Now at 13st 12lb so only 2lb away from my initial target.

I've been doing the 18:6 fasting plan and to be honest, I wish I'd done this 10 years ago.
I did have a few mood crashes when I got home after work, feeling quite angry and irritable. Research suggested it was because of low blood sugar and the body going into ketosis.
I added Oranges, pineapples, ginger, lime and lemon to my water intake during the day and this has sorted the mood crashes.

My joints and especially knees don't hurt as much, this is more to do with cutting food out that causes inflammation.

I have noticed the taste of chocolate isn't the same, it's not nice anymore, same for when we've had a Chinese.
It all tastes so false, which it is i suppose.

I've found my energy levels are much better in the day, I seem to be more productive.

So for me, this isn't some diet fad like weight watchers, just feels like a way of life and understanding of how addictive certsin foods can be (probably by design).

What was the driver of human evolution then? Certainly wasn't wheat. Go and have a look in a heavily wooded area in winter and try to find things to eat, you'll  starve, as did early humans unless they could kill animals.

I'm certainly not saying don't eat meat. When it comes to decreasing your body fat percentage, chicken breast is a cheat code.

My point is that you absolutely can enjoy bread and pasta and still lose fat.
