I wish the boy every success as he faces the difficult challenge of acclimatising to League football whilst simultaneously learning how to live away from his Mum and look after himself. From a Rovers perspective however I'm in baffled bewilderment at how anyone can look at the current squad and think what we need is more youthful inexperience particularly at centre half.We have a (yes currently injured) 18 year old centre half of promise who has more than looked the part when he's played this year. Someone Rovers could develop to their long term benefit.Yet his opportunities are restricted and he's farmed out on loan whilst we're seemingly happy to give opportunities to another club's unproven youth. A bemusing strategy. Are Rovers' still a senior men's football team or merely a testing centre for other clubs' unproven youth players? What possible benefit is derived from being the latter in terms of short-term success or long-term squad building?

Perfectly competitive.The top 3 in League 2 have players on loan: -Orient have 5 loanees aged 22, 21, 22, 20 and 25Stevenage 5 loanees aged 21, 23, 30, 28 and 20Northampton 3 loaness aged 21, 20 and 24.Not a single teenage youth loan in sight.
Admiral? Give us a clue.
QuoteFrom Campsall We are not going to get a proven experienced defender on loan are we. No we are not yet Leyton Orient have loaned an experienced Centre Half from Rotherham today
Please remind me how old were Kane and Wilks
Managers stand and fall by their signings, Nelson could be Schofield’s, Waterloo!

Herbie was also on the chunky side!
Yes just sounded better Waterloo.

The others games around 120 are in those two Mickey Mouse leagues known as the Scottish Championship and Scottish Premier league. Don’t forget we have discarded many players over the years to those two leagues because they are no better than League 1 and League 2 in England. Barring Celtic and Rangers who would be on par with our Championship clubs.

Scottish championship is probably Conference level?
Quote from: ncRover on January 19, 2023, 08:14:23 amScottish championship is probably Conference level?I would say League 2 but point taken. The standard is not great is it? Quite a few National league teams are top end League 2 standard.
I wish this lad all the luck in the world, I sincerely hope he does well for us and all through his career, but this is and has been since the Kings Lynn debacle a PR disaster for the club who have undermined the value of Bobby Faulkner to the club by ridiculous loose talk by senior management personnel, poor administration of his career, and unfortunately for Nelson who is going to be caught in the middle of a comparison with a youngster of our own that has been one of the few successes we have had this season and become a fans favourite, and by the same token have disillusioned a young player who just months ago would have run through a brick wall for the club and always wanted to do well and give his all for the shirt, quite a difference to the attitude portrayed by a lot of the players we have fielded this season. I sometimes question the world wise education some people have in the football industry. Over the years we have had more than our fair share of poor decisions and publicity.
