I still wonder what the relationship is to Faulkener with Selby?
I don't mind having kids on loan, as long as we are not OBLIGED to play them. Going back a way I remember a CH from Chelsea I think, Harry something. He was awful, but his name was the first on the team sheet, and we used to sub him in the second half asap because he was a liability. When they come from "big" clubs like Leicester it is always a worry.
I do wonder what the view of Bobby would be if he was a loanee. He makes mistakes, poor with the ball at his feet and has questionably rash decision making in my opinion. But he does have potential. We will not be successful this season with him in the defence because he just isn't ready and he needs more game time and technical coaching.Whether Nelson is any better we will see in due course.
Of course not, what makes you think that?

Maybe me & others are wrong, but what have we got to lose by giving him game time this season? The alternative he feels un-valued & someone else gives him a chance, meanwhile will we even remember who our better options were?

I’d say he’s played more games by this stage than anyone anticipated, he’s shown plenty of promise but he’s very much still learning. We gave him the opportunity to get more games on loan (later than expected in the season) when we thought we were going to have a full complement of centre halves to choose from. That quickly changed and Bobby got injured too which was rotten luck and made it look like a terrible decision with the obvious benefit of perfect hindsight. Nelson offers much needed competition and cover as others including Bobby return to full fitness. It’s not overly helpful to play one off against the other, I think we ought to be hoping both do well. Bobby has no reason to feel disgruntled by his development here and we all hope he has a big future here and possibly beyond that. Some of the talk of him playing for England got a bit daft. Just let him develop. The loanee point is interesting. I feel like if Woltman had come through our academy we’d have been raving about the flashes of technical brilliance and preaching patience as he adjusts to the men’s game. That’s very very different to the attitude shown towards him. That said I’ve never been a fan of developing another club’s player and allowing ourselves to be used to iron out their flaws. Can’t be easy running a football club on a limited budget. And most clubs will have a limited budget and have these decisions to make in different ways.
Or it could be Selby
That the chap on Twitter then liking all the tweets?

I really like Bobby, but I do think he would benefit from a loan rather than our first team at present.A team like King’s Lynn would be perfect. Sending him to a backs against the wall sort of team isn’t going to help his on the ball play develop.
Nelson starts today in back three.
