Bootle have the current longest time since being a League team without getting back in.

The bootle who played in the football league were liquidated and the one that plays under that name now was formed in the 50s.

Northwich Victoria are the team who have waited the longest to get back into league football. 129 years and counting.

Interestingly the closest they've come was when they played us in the conference.

So in summary .,... Scunny despite their takeover may take years to " get back in "

Suppose if the bloke bankrolls them they might have a shot at Promo next season.

Looks like they might avoid dropping out of League 5 now with 4 points in 2 games. Go on I say they won't go down, that should make it an interesting last 1/3 Rd for them

Accrington and Newport were liquidated too.

Indeed they were.

Interestingly the next longest time period a team has been out of the football league following relegation are our near neighbours Gainsborough Trinity at 110 years. Darwen were relegated between the two but unfortunately went out of business a few years back.

I've just realised that of the five Lincolnshire clubs that have ever been in the League, four of them have been relegated to non-league since relegation started.

The new scunny owner has put a tweet out saying they’ll be announcing a new signing on the hour, every hour, between 9am and 3pm tomorrow

Reminds me of the time when Rovers said they were announcing a player a day for a week

I miss the days when there was a bit of fun and excitement about following us
