Same old cliches
By the way Scunthorpe didn’t overspend the owner stopped spending.

Nope! They overspent for many years and then they tried to cut back when it was too late.
They are still business just and will endeavour to recover.
Financially we are not in that position but on the field and level of players we have
is declining we all hope we don’t end up going out of the league. Because we won’t have the financial overspending as an excuse.
Steve we are not going to go out of the league.  You are rightly concerned about where we are I understand that but we are far more likely to finish 7th than 7th from bottom so finishing 23rd or 24th would be catastrophic from where we are points wise at present. It ain’t going to happen.

Next season we should be much stronger. Have a little patience and let the manager get on with it.
This season we are going to be inconsistent, just accept it.  As long as we start to see an definite improvement of performance  over the last 20 games then that’s what’s important.
out of interest why should we be stronger next year? We have 12 players out of contract amd will probably sell less season tickets than this year so have a reduced budget
Let’s see then. I don’t have a crystal ball ( BB has one ).
Hopefully we keep the ones we want to keep and I suspect we will. Clear out the dead wood. Sign 4/5 good players in the summer.

I am sure that’s the plan.  If all the out of contract players go then let them go. If they don’t want to play for us then they aren’t worth keeping. We would just have to recruit more players.
There are hundreds out of contract in the summer.

There is no way they will reduce the playing budget next season.
The fact we are now in the current healthy financial position means that won’t happen.

If the budget was reduced, then yes the Board are not interested in promotion and then we can justifiably have a serious moan.

The fact is of course they want promotion.

Do you seriously think either Wellens or Schofield would have taken the job if they thought the club had no ambition?
Do you think Copps would have entertained taking his current role if their was no ambition from the board?
I’m normally quite optimistic during pre seasons, but the last couple of years has knocked yhat out of me, we need a massive rebuild we have lost more permanent signings than have made, we have not had a decent defensive midfielder for 3 years the only real defensive midfielder we have on the books has left for Bradford, one of the best right backs in this division has left us and been replaced by a loan signing, we have had several opportunities to rebuild a decent squad bus as wellens found he signed 3 players and all the money had gone
Don’t you think Wellens would have asked or been told what budget he had when he took the job.

yes but he was probably told our injured players would return very soon, once it was clear that they were out for months he was still left with no money

Some jealousy there I think
What on earth are you talking about Upton. Please explain why on earth you think I am jealous of Fleetwood town.
I can promise you I would not swop with them if they were in the League 1 promotion places.
Any success they have had and may get will be very short lived and they will come crashing down much faster than there rise.
No I would much rather have our business model because long term it will give us the opportunity for sustained success on the pitch.
Our business model isn’t working though
Upton with all due respect, the business model IS WORKING.
The managerial appointments and player recruitment is the bit that has not worked.
Crikey how many times does this have to be said by so many of us.

Hopefully we have now got it right with Copps and DS.  Give them time for crying out loud.
If we are not top 7 minimum by end of Nov 23 then start moaning because I promise you I will be more than moaning.
As much as I like Copps, it’s simply not working, if anyone believes he’s doing a good job, then they’re incorrect

I think both Wellens and Schofield took the job because they were unemployed!
