I'd be very happy for that to happen over here too. Property prices are ludicrous in comparison to average earnings so I worry about my kids ever being able to buy their own homes. On a selfish note we're also looking to up-size so any percentage loss on our sale would be more than recovered in the price of the bigger house.

Looked in an estate agents window in Hathersage.The only house/cottage under £650,000 was a shabby looking semi for £350,000.Some were over £1million.Ridiculous.EditHow they get people to work in the pubs, cafes and shops in the countryside is beyond me.
Thorne Mate of mine is selling his house , found sales particulars from when he bought it 21 years back . Now he's done a lot to it no doubt, but it's gone from 105k to 430k in that time ,
