The front page of The Mirror yesterday got it right I thinkThey fought and died for our freedomFreedom of speech, thought and protestTo Suella Braverman… how dare you try to take that away?To the marchers… remember who won you those freedomsTo Britain… we must resist all cynical efforts to whip up hatred I would be wary if you gov polls. I remember one they did in covid time that said around 20% of people wanted nightclubs permanently closed forever.

Far right thugs scrapping among themselves and the police at the cenotaph right now. Very respectful! Braverman whistled, the dogs heard it.
It is because the government want a riot, they are the people standing around laying wreathes for them who sent them to be slaughtered essentially. They want to use this as an excuse to cut out our ability to peacefully protest which is happening in the U.K.The totalitarian and authoritarian country we are becoming. Remembrance day is just PR and a showbiz event.

While there are still plenty of people who observe remembrance Day for the right reasons, I have noticed a definite change in my lifetime as ww1 and ww2 veterans have passed away. It's turned into nationalist Christmas for some people. You only have to look at the scenes at the cenotaph today for evidence of that. You feel that if Wilfred Owen published his poetry today, a section of society would call him an unpatriotic virtue signalling leftie.
Aren’t most polls based on a very small percentage of our 67 million population.I guess we will see over the weekend whether the pro Palestinian march creates any confrontation. My guess is that it will get very messy.

The Palestinian march has been largely peaceful from what I've seen.

Evening Standard front page photo of Palestine March with a headlineFights break out between police and groups trying to reach CenotaphAbsolutely disgraceful, remind me who owns the ES!

Surely you didn't think I meant Braverman was there too? These scenes are due to her whipping people up into a frenzy and her right wing dog whistles this week. BBC currently reporting 92 right wing bellends have been arrested.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-67390343

I think it’s good to take different angles in.After Oct 7th Hamas attacks, Rivkah Brown from Novara Media tweeted:“Today should be a day of celebration for supporters of democracy and human rights worldwide, as Gazans break out of their open-air prison and Hamas fighters cross into their colonisers' territory. The struggle for freedom is rarely bloodless and we shouldn't apologise for it.”
