I found this one easier than usual, got it with one life lost.
Having said that, I wouldn't have got the final (purple) row if it hadn't solved itself!

Yes as reported I got Yellow and Green straight off then lost 4 lives fixated on the Purples

I thought that there must be a suffix and thought Mar lin saw Mer lin then spotted Ear and thought Lin ear and looked at the other words adding Lin to front or back. I settled on Pop Lin sure that that was a material they made shirts from so that was a banker too

But I tried 4 times and failed each time and remembering it's US game failed using Sat Lin and Lin Sat

F****** hell was I kicking myself when I saw the answer

Funny how our brains work. I got the purple group first. MER got it for me, no such English word (or one I've heard of)

Downed after getting Green Row without loss

Kicking myself yet again after getting one away 4 times in Yellow and Light Blue categories

But ffs not getting the Yellow was criminal

Yesterday now.

Can't believed I had Frog Hare Kangaroo and didn't spot Cricket so I didn't even get Yellows even trying Trampoline

Today an exact opposite of that

Won ... Lost no lives

An upside down logic defying win as I got Purple ( nominally hardest ) first AND Yellows ( nominally easiest ) last

Victory for a change but i got Green Blue Purple and fortunately the Yellow was a gimmee.
I will be googling the last word of the yellow group to see what it means. Probably a word the kids use lol.
EDIT It is slang and used by kids (and cool adults I guess) with a meaning that allows it into the Yellow group.

That left the Purples and I did try to find a connection before selecting them

 Got 3 of the green group a couple of times but ultimately failed.

Mixed the Greens and Yellows up 3 times ( similar but not same)

Had a go at Purples as I spotted a connection for 3 and opted for one I hadn't heard of over one I hadn't heard of

The latter would have been right but "cooked"

Solved it with a complete fluke.
Got the green and yellows after
a lot of jiggery pokery, losing 3 lives in the process.
After more muddled thought I decided the blue could be something to do with horses so eventually pressed submit and, blow me sideways it was right, er for the wrong reason.
As for the purple 2 were obvious, 2 were impossible.

Anyway as Wolfie says, a wins a win!

A 2 minute no lives lost win , and I got Purple third AND for a change I knew the connection for the last 4 words as well

If there are 2 people setting them I hope other one is on his holidays for a while

I think all 4 groups are eminently guessable with a bit of concentration.

As Mug said ... they are connected and I got home without losing another life

That left me with 3 words I had right in guess 1 and one I would never have put with them and of course that completed the 4

I did as usual try to decide what connected the Purples but failed ( and maybe I should have got it )

I predict a clean sweep on here today

I think Wolfie is very brave to suggest a clean sweep as I had only gut feeling to get the blue and no idea what linked the purples.

Then lost 3 lives with the swimming animal but fluked it on last guess.

I was "boosted" by going back to your comment the other day , when I crashed and burnt and you said " I looked at MER and thought , that's not a word"

So I was drawn to the shortest of the Animal words , and as I made a Tea I thought of it and bang . I've seen one in fact

Then I thought ah , and listed in my head the other 3. Still then struggled with Purple though
